When RTS Gaming Returned

During the Corona lock-down times, it was only necessary to return to the Real Time Strategy games which I had played a long time ago. There was the need for the games which could be played nicely through Local Area Network, as Wireless LAN would let us play the games online for a change. The Turn Based Strategy games were also interesting choices, but those would be slower, and can also take a lot of time. Real Time Strategy was to be faster, and so I went back to my past to get two of the favourites with their expansion packs, Age of Empires 2: Conquerors and Warcraft: The Frozen Throne. Age of Empires III was out of the equation due to the lack of save option in multiplayer mode, and even Warcraft had the saves limited.

This is why Age of Empires 2 is the perfect choice for online gaming as far as strategy games are concerned. It has had the same status for a long time, and even after so many years, there is grandeur in comparison to those fake Android strategy games which show something in advertisements and come up with something else. One has to remember that the advertisements seen in Facebook and Instagram were of Age of Empires, and not really of those games they were promoting. It is the quality of Age of Empires, as we play as different civilizations, through different ages, and the campaigns are just too good. Warcraft brings fantasy in the place of history, and has a similar gameplay, even though in that case, there are less races in comparison to civilization, but each one is unique. For Age of Empires, Huns, Mongols and Byzantines are my favourites, while for Warcraft, I always go for the Undead.

Some free time after all the destruction being done.

That moment after you finish the enemies and resources too.

You play as the Mongols, and you go another path.

The Byzantine Empire is indeed one of interest.

Gathering all forces, and then attacking – the right way.

You land your forces on the tip of the enemy’s island.

With the island map, a good navy is a necessity.

Nobody messes up with the war elephants unless you are so quick.

Your enemies are almost at their end in this game of Warcraft.

Humans allying with the undead against elves might feel strange, but not in Warcraft.

From Oblivion to Blades

I remember The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to be a game which had no match during its time, and being a rather unknown computer game in comparison to the others, it was a case of luck that I came across it. Bethesda Game Studios came up with this open world RPG in 2006, and it was bigger than any other game at that time. There was so much to be done in this game, and I had finished the game quickly enough. There was so much of freedom in that game that we never really stopped playing it. One year later, there was Mass Effect which did almost the same thing, only in space instead of a medieval world of swords and magic. It is to this memory that The Elder Scrolls: Blades came up for Android, and my Samsung Galaxy A20S had the perfect game for these times, a game which can be played in both landscape and portrait modes.

We don’t usually see the advertisements for this game on social media, and that is because it is something which doesn’t require such cheap and fake show. We can see that established games like The Sims and The Elder Scrolls series are perfect in their own way, and fans will come after them. One should find these games instead of falling for those fake games with advertisements on social media, which have the real gameplay entirely different from what is shown on those ads. The Elder Scrolls: Blades is a perfect game in that case, and we have a hero who comes as a saviour to a town which is threatened by multiple enemies including, bandits, sorcerers, goblins, trolls and more. We will find or create and reinforce weapons and armour, along with create magic potions, while taking on some quests during our journey to save our people.

Living the Sims Family Life

I had earlier written about the game, Sims Mobile, and it has been going on very well, much better than any other games I had played on Android mobile. Well, Android has not been the favourite platform of the PC gamer in me, but nowadays, I use the laptop only for education purposes, and therefore, the platform had to change. I was also playing Empire City on Android, but I have finished building in all the available space, and there is nothing more to be done with it, but the same is not with the case of Sims Mobile, which always provides us with something to do. It can be played slowly, and according to the time we have to spare. There is no need to think too much about it, as the whole thing is just like we are living a family life, with the needs and objectives being the commonly known ones.

So, now I have bought a second home in the game, and with a total of twenty sims in two houses combined, and with four playable sims, it continues to be fun, even though I have finished all the available career options and hobbies in the game, undergoing a long wait for an update. There are also those interesting missions which come in between, which we can accomplish we have time. Otherwise, we can just go on playing freely. It is not mandatory to do anything in this game, even though the initial missions will help you to advance better. Below are some moments which which felt lovely, and those which could be shared. The screenshot option nicely did the job, and I have cropped these images to keep the focus at the right place.

This is an image of the new house which I built in the game after buying a new plot. I brought some of the furniture in the other house to this new one, and also brought some new ones. I created an open space in the middle because I wanted it to be different. This is a home close to nature, with a certain amount of divergence.

When there is a teddy bear in the house, you know where the toddlers would be focusing all the time. The areas is quite crowded, and there seems to be a plan to get closer to the teddy too. But the game doesn’t have the option for the toddlers to interact directly with this toy, and it is really a shame.

Now, this one comes as a Corona special moment, as this sim keeps washing her hands. At least there is one person in the house who is rather too careful. Well, with COVID-19 around the corner, you can never be careless. The game has its moments of care for its sims, as we are still going through the same pandemic in real life.

The happiest toddler in sims is the one that is fed. You can find the same here, and even though there is no particular time for the child to be fed or put to sleep, these can be done at regular intervals to build a happy relationship with the kid which will be useful when he or she grows up. Option for toddlers to ask for food needs to be added.

There is always time for some cooking. It is actually a hobby which one can keep up, and it is also one of the first ones which you are introduced to. The other options like writing and music will quickly follow, but this one can come up with the necessary equipment quite early. Sometimes, we can also find some cooking mess up too.

The duck toy is a favourite, and the toddlers in Sims Mobile love the same, and it is cute to see them play with this particular toy. Almost every toddler seems to have one of such toys with them, and this image makes one feel that one toddler is going to snatch the toy from another, but that doesn’t happen in the game at all.

The yoga hobby is a very effective one, because you can get most of the equipment for it at a low cost, and these mats looks nice on the floor. There are some nice movements in yoga which are being practiced here, and it is surely not like any other hobby in the game. I always prefer hobbies over career – after all, it is Corona time.

If the biological mother of the babies is spending her time working on the mobile, someone else has to do the job, and this time, two people have come ready for taking care of the little ones. The babies will surely have their revenge when they grow up. These two became toddlers quicker than anticipated, and never stops moving around.

No matter how old you are, you just can’t avoid a unicorn toy. It attracts the toddlers as well as the elder children, and one might even want to say a hi and talk to the toy. Well, direct interaction is needed in this case too, and Sims Mobile should add that and more options for toddlers and children. It can take something from Sims Freeplay.

Everything needs to be planned, and here, the sim is taking a perfect measurement of the shelf. Sims Mobile has got some nice things to buy for home, and if you keep playing the game like two times a day, you will earn enough to keep you going, buying new clothing and household items. You can take it slow, or you can pay for items.

UT99: Gaming Nostalgia

Unreal Tournament, with the original one often known along with the year 1999 or with the Game of the Year Edition addition to name (UT99 or UT:GOTY) was one game which changed our gaming concepts, a very long time ago. Coming from Epic Games and Digital Extremes, this was the second release from the franchise, and managed to make all the impact by revolutionizing the gaming idea with its arena first-person shooter mode which involved playing against computer as well as other human players in multiplayer mode. I remember this game as the first one which I played online with friends during the early years of the new century.

The game’s domination mode which involved the capturing of control points and defending them, was my favourite during the time. During the lock-down period, I did spend enough time playing the game through LAN, along with Age of Empires 2: Conquerors and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. It was a nice refreshing of those good old days for me. I would play Unreal Tournament’s original version any time again, and Unreal Tournament 2003 and Unreal Tournament 2004 which came after this game were not that effective in comparison, which makes this version the one game which I might never forget. Remember that there is also a fine background story to this adventure which involved a lot of shooting. There is nothing that matches a perfect head-shot with a sniper rifle or the heated shrapnel launched by a Flak Cannon.

This pyramid level arena has us fighting for our lives in space.

A Gothic model of an arena will have us fighting hard.

A graveyard level is special for Halloween and the inner horror.

The level set on a galleon had some fine moments with visuals.

Sometimes, a few head-shots which a sniper proves to be the best.

This arena map called DM-Hyperblast has been a crowd favourite.

This is an arena which reminds one of hell & those Doom games.

Nothing suits Unreal Tournament 99 like the blood-red colour.

Another level in space means another chance for defying gravity.

DM-Morpheus map is the arena of suicides by falling into space.

Return to Gaming: Sims

You have been reviewing movies in different languages – you think that you are done with gaming, and then you find the mobile version of The Sims, a game which you had played and enjoyed a long time ago on computer. This is one game which you will love because it is virtual life itself, and you go through the usual household things including buying and maintaining a home, as well as work and relationship matters with no exaggerations. Most of you might have tried this one once on computer or mobile – otherwise, you can give it a try, and I have left you a few moments from the game so that you can know what it is about, and for the former computer gamers, this is one peaceful game which can take you back to those golden days, this time on Android. You will still require a GB free for this one, and an internet connection, as interaction with the characters or sims of other players also happen regularly along with the non-playing sims.

From the following images, you can find out that there are a number of sims which you can control, as you start with one, quickly get another, and there are two more to be unlocked, leading to the total number of four under your control. These sims will be working, going through different relationships, actions and events like fashion and visit to a restaurant, along with going through hobbies like yoga, cooking, music and others. You can have a total of twelve sims in your house including the four which you can control. Along with the same, you can buy a few things for your home, including furniture, electronic equipment, bathroom and kitchen items, things for the hobbies, special items for children and more. More land can be added as well as rooms and floors. You can also add another floor, and spend a lot of time at other areas of the town, as well as attending parties, meeting other sims who are not part of your household, some of them belonging to other players, while others being independent.

The babies and the kids ask for your time here.

There is no waiting when the kid needs food.

There is still some time for the yoga hobby.

You keep wondering if the kids have enough sleep.

Sneak in to get something from the refrigerator.

One simple wedding function at home being enough.

You talk about a bad day, and the kid drops in.

Always provide the plants with what they need.

Having some time out with friends at a special restaurant.

Acupuncture remains an interesting option, right?

The scientists are doing all they can at the laboratory.

When the kids have too many questions, you wonder.

Long Distance Runners

After buying that Swipe 3D Tablet, gaming has come back to me. It is not about any other game though, as they have all been running games, except for My Emma about which I shall write later. It all started with Temple Run 2 which was already installed in the tablet and then I needed a few more games. So I installed more of the similar games and ended up having so many games within never-ending running worlds. All seemed so similar, but I really wanted to play them all as our heroes keep running and running, and here is the list of my endless running games 😀 All the images used in this blog post are from Google Apps Store.

1. Temple Run: As the beginner game of them all and the most played Android game which I have seen on the phones of almost all my friends, challenged only by Angry Birds, this one makes us feel that everything else are just random imitations, especially with the second part of the game released. Everything seemed perfect with this game, and just after installing it, I had played it so many times. Now I have both parts of the game, and it seems to me that no other game can have the perfection of this one. Sooner or later, the protagonist in the game will realize that he can’t get away after stealing artifacts from monkeys 😀

tmpl

2. Spirit Run: This is the closest neighbour to the one above. The setting remains a temple, but just that it is more of an Aztec pyramid temple instead of the original. There are no adventurers here though, and instead there is the native spirit running around to save nature – this person can transform into a wolf and go invincible instead of the original shield option of Temple Run. There are also other unlockable characters who turn into other creatures. Its advantage is that the graphics happen to the best of them all. A lot of options need internet though including the scores.

3. Zombie Run: The one real bad thing here is that there is no exit button. But otherwise, this is a fine piece of running game which has a zombie with a Santa Hat running from the evil humans who have started a bar on top his swampish resting place. He keeps running away from the dangerous alive creatures, collecting magic potions and fishes. The game has a nice environment, lots of details and high collection of statistics. This one scores with a zombie and does well.

4. Subway Surfer: Temple Run changed and made suitable to the modern age and further interesting for the new age kids, this one includes a kid who runs away from the police and the cop dog after doing something really stupid with a graffiti in the subway. There are trains which keep coming, and block which will end his run, and also being caught by the police who does the job of the monkeys in Temple Run and a monster in Spirit Run. There are some nice, stylish areas in the game, but the need for the internet for daily challenge and some extra advertisements ruin the time. And the exit button is not found yet.

sbw

5. Zombie Chasing: They can’t even make one nice zombie for the start-up screen here. But the game manages to be better than the impression that it gives. Yes, there are zombies chasing our hero and this time we go through the dark dungeons collecting coins and trying to get rid of the monsters. The problems are all there and we have to jump, slide and turn. The graphics is less due to its setting, but still fine, and it is pretty good with this background. The cleaning softwate does have some problem with this though. But a lot more statistics please?

6. Tomb Run: Even though this one impressed me with the app page, there was not much there in the game. From the first screen itself, it seemed kind of out of order. But I liked the variety in traps which were there and death thus had some more style. It is good to be in the tomb of monsters and traps which can kill us in a nicer brutal manner. There are not even much options here, and the absence of a detailed status hurts as we are rather unclear what to unlock when, and if there is any advantage of the continuous running that we put up during our joblessness.

7. City Zombie Run: This movie has a protagonist with a gun which he starts shooting if there is a zombie in front of him. Set in the city with all signs of a zombie apolcapyse, this game is not that easy to control, and movement remains pain for most occasions. There are not enough score details to add to the motivation or a better collection of instructions here. But this can surely remind you of Resident Evil as you go through the infested city after something like a virus outbreak.

zmbi

8. Lost Temple: I downloaded this one and found out that it was Lost Temple 2 – so there was a part one? This one begins with a huge protagonist who can somehow move, and has a hook on his hand – not really the best starts there. The game also has no scores being saved, and there is no user-friendly menus, forget the friendly controls. This one surely has the need to be like Temple Run, but is nowhere close to it. This is mostly a lost game, and should prove useful if the other games are not available and you really need to run.

The Effect of Mass Effect

There are times when you remember those lessons from teachers, and among them, there were games, about which I had written earlier. Along with Age of Empires‘ lessons in history, Age of Mythology‘s myth related classes and Tomb Raider‘s attempt to improve my puzzle solving skills to which Prince of Persia also contributed, there was always Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 Arena to teach how to control anger by helping us blow a computer bot’s head off and shout “Head Shot”. But among these games, what Mass Effect taught was more of an endless collection of things. Here are a few.

Spare some time to look at the world of Mass Effect - gaming can wait :D

Spare some time to look at the beautiful world of Mass Effect – gaming can wait 😀

1. It is a big, strange world, and there is the need for tolerance: You take control of SSV Normandy, a powerful spaceship as Commander Shepard, with missions and a chance to meet different species of aliens along with completing the objectives. It is not so different from being in our own world except for the appearances of the aliens and all the shooting that can happen at anytime. We are all aliens on Earth as these people are when travelling through different parts of the galaxy. Every species is different, but we can get along with most of them with some tolerance.

Isn't this the best time to travel to Mercury? Or should we wait for Santa Claus? :D

Isn’t this the best time to travel to Mercury? Or should we wait for Santa Claus? 😀

2. Exploration is a must and without it, there is a void: The game’s vast universe is something to be explored. There are some strange planets, and we don’t know what awaits us there. The only thing that we can confirm is about the nature of the elements there. After we get there, there is the chance to get lost in the beauty of the detail there. There are times when creatures come out of nowhere, and the sand serpent kind of things might be common. We face the dangers of the world there as we struggle with the competition in the society in the world outside gaming. It is only then that we get better.

Another planet to explore, and a vehicle which suits the same.

Here is another planet to explore, and a vehicle which suits the terrains of these worlds.

3. Choices make big impact, not just for you, but for many others: There are many choices that we have to make in this game. Not only our actions, but also our words make a difference. It can make a hostile drop his gun, one of our allies turn against us or a friend shoot us. It can lead to the death of one of our soldiers, and there are times when we have to choose a life over the other, or the life of someone over the mission. The game is full of choices, and I had never played a game which had made me choose so much and also suffer the consequences in a few more minutes of play. Not so different from real life, is it?

Make the choice. Meanwhile, note the point from Ashley :D

Make the choice. Meanwhile, note the point from Ashley Williams who speaks the truth 😀

4. There is always something more than what meets the eye: Mass Effect does have a twisted story, and a lot of effort has been put in there to make sure that it doesn’t end up as just another shooter with guns and blood making the rules. Even as things would eventually lead to an alien race called The Reapers who would come and harvest the developed life as they always did, there are lots of twists concerning the same, and our protagonist has to fight more than just the harbingers or the final agents of Armageddon.

An ancient civilization devastated. But it should still have a few surprises.

An ancient civilization devastated. But it should still have a few surprises for our captain.

5. Settle your differences before it is too late: Mass Effect is a game that thrives on relationships. There is friendship as well as the romantic relationship that blossoms for the protagonist, and displeasure is another side of the same. Just like in the game, we are aware of a possible end of the world considering the recent terrorist attacks and acts of hatred – so it becomes our duty to be tolerant of others, and hope for a better future. There was something more about this, but by memory is a little faded.

You are already in the battle. Better before death than in afterlife.

You are already in the middle of a big battle. Better before death than later in afterlife.

I have never played another game like Mass Effect. Most of you have watched Interstellar, but this game which came in 2007 had a lot of space exploration elements. It is one of those rare games that give so much choice. There is the movie on the same, which is a work in progress – it is going to be huge. There is already an animated movie Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, and two sequels to the game. Do you know that Mass Effect 2 is considered one of the greatest games of all time? I have a lot less idea about Mass Effect 3, but all three games were received with a lot of acclaim.

Oh no! This is not where I parked my spaceship, or is it? :D

Oh no! This is not that area of the galaxy where I parked my fantastic spaceship, or is it? 😀

Rediscovering a Passion

There are many things I have been. But among them, one of the strongest was about being a gamer, someone who could stay awake all night and play all of those games on the computer as well as online. There was also that LAN gaming saga which was there between us friends. But things have changed, as we replaced our high performance computer system supported by that powerful graphics card, with two laptops for home, a procedure which stopped my gaming like a dead end.

There were the games like Age Of Empires, Age of Wonders, Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament, which were the older games which had me interested, along with those newer games of the time Prototype, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Mass Effect which formed my later love along with Crysis and Assassin’s Creed. But then, everything disappeared, and it was like vanishing into thin air – the process was quick, and I did nothing to stop the same.

My wandering through those lovely beaches in military vehicles - gone now

My wandering through those lovely beaches in awesome military vehicles – gone now

When I was a gamer, I used to believe in myself. I had good friends, better ideas and the belief that I could do things that nobody could. But as I ended that procedure, I felt a certain amount of weakness in me. I had the feeling that I wasn’t that good as I used to be, and my confidence went down another level. People did say that the end of gaming was a good thing for me, but I could feel it in my heart more and more as time passed.

What I didn’t realize that it was gaming that made me a more confident person, and may be even a better me. The games had brought the believer in me to another stage, but I had never realized that, and stopped everything all of a sudden. I should have stuck to the older games on my laptop, but for some reason, I tried, but could never really stick to it. It was a sad state for me.

Shooting aliens on a strange and mysterious planet - not anymore

Shooting aliens on a strange and mysterious planet of great beauty – not anymore

On this New Year, I make the resolution to bring gaming back to my life. I have only a mobile which doesn’t support most of those big games, which is why I need a tablet, something like Micromax Canvas Tab P666 which can bring my passion for gaming back from the bottom of the abyss. It is surely going to bring back the gamer in me to life in a procedure of resurrection, especially my First Person Shooter side.

This one has Intel Hyper-Threading Technology and having such a fast and responsive tab will boost the gamer in me like never before in the last few years, and I am hoping to get it one day. It also boasts of Seamless Multitasking with Intel Burst Performance Technology. Even as there are many things that the Canvas Tab can do with the movie lover and the bookworm in me, lets believe in the power of this gadget to make gaming come alive for now!

Taking a leap of faith from the top of a tower with belief - nevermore?

This blog post is part of the Happy Hours Campaign from Indiblogger in association with Micromax Canvas Tab P666 with Intel Insideâ„¢. Here, I have rediscovered my passion for gaming as I make a resolution for this New Year to be the gamer again with the help of this lightning speed Canvas Tab from Micromax which has turned into my dream machine for now. Crosshairs at Home

Vampire Owl: You are older than the Transformers. How can you even buy a toy when you are a thousands of years old Vampire Bat?

Vampire Bat: Because I won the gift voucher, and I have to spend it wisely.

Vampire Owl: What does wisdom got to do with a brainless movie such as Transformers, especially the last three movies of the franchise? You should have used your Transformer Chevrolet Beat instead and hoped that it would transform like in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Vampire Bat: I have always wanted this one since I was a kid, as per the official records; not as per our original vampire age.

Vampire Owl: Do you realize that there are many evil devices in these online stores which we can use for world domination?

Vampire Bat: Do you know that this is Diwali and one should stop being evil until Halloween?

Vampire Owl: That reminds me, do you need to hear me crack a cracker joke?

Vampire Bat: Absolutely not.

[Drives the Transformer in car mode].

What I bought from Flipkart (pic from Transformers wiki)

What I bought from Flipkart (pic from Transformers wiki)

There have been many question that I asked myself about what to buy on my first experience with flipkart, and when I wandered clueless on that website which had extra charge for delivery as far as the total amount was below five hundred (yes, I am very much late on this online shopping stuff). Then there was the long list of Transformers toys which were priced above thousand, and a few of them which looked less impressive or without a seller near my area which costed less, and then there were those which costed approximately rupees eight hundred and fourty nine.

Chevrolet Corvette, I would have preferred the red (Pic from Corvette's wiki page)

Chevrolet Corvette, I would have preferred the red (Pic from Corvette’s wiki page)

The normal person should surely buy some clothes, electronic gadgets, movies, music or books, but I don’t remember being like others since beginning to study English Literature (there was only an attempt before that). People and their quesions – is there any end to it? There are so many of them about which I can write another post, but here there was only one. That question was asked about why the Transformers toy, but it is one question which can’t be answered, and also deserves absolutely no answer, and still I have my reasons to buy this one which I had chosen from a short-listed group of two.

Some smart dialogues from Crosshairs (Screenshot from T4)

Some smart dialogues from Crosshairs (Screenshot from T4)

Coming back to the choices which were there for the same price, they were Crosshairs which transformed into a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Bumblebee which transformed into a Chevrolet Camaro. I did think that the black and yellow combination of the latter looked better, but in everything else, the green and black Crosshairs scored. It was a new and stylish car which it transformed into, compared to Bumblebee’s choice of an older version of the Camaro, or at least it seemed to be so. Remember Crosshairs’ dialogues in the last Transformers movie? It is one robot with individuality that we have there unlike the usual dumb ones which follow Optimus Prime in the absence of brains.

Crosshairs in action (Screenshot from T4)

Crosshairs in action (Screenshot from T4)

To be frank, I have always hated Bumblebee, for that robot always had too much attention in all those live action movies, and as all the other original robots other than Optimus Prime (the zombie robot that just can’t stay dead), are dead – Jazz, Ironhide and Ratchet are no more in the movies – still, Bumblebee remains, and the existence of an yellow robot which can appeal only to kids is depressing for a serious action, and it is the same reason why the movie is not taken seriously. Even when the main human characters are changed, the dirty yellow still remains!

Crosshairs was the only impressive robot in Transformers: Age of Extinction after they killed off Ironhide in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. As another weapons expert, this is the only one which I can choose to replace what used to be my favourite choice, and even in the absence of those big cannons as Ironhide, this is one nice armorer and trooper as we see the action. The other two new transformers of the movie Drift and Hound were changed into bloody stereotype characters. So, Crosshairs it is! And I am glad that it reached here in three days, seven days before it was supposed to be. It is kind of overpriced, but well done Flipkart on bringing it here earlier and giving me the Diwali suprise!

Life’s Gaming Lessons

People say that movies teaches us things, and books are supposed to be our best friends ever. But can we say the same about anything else? If there is a third in that list, I would say that would be the computer games, because it has made me realize more than any other medium. There are many things that a gamer achieves from one video game, and it is not just limited to finding one or two more friends to play the game with. I shall share a few realizations. The images are screenshots from the games which I captured.

Age of Empires: History can be a lot of fun :: History has never been this much fun before Age of Empires, especially the Conquerers Edition, as it instantly transports us to a world full of historical mission that we have to complete, including that of Montezuma, Joan of Arc, William Wallace, El Cid and many others. It is a clear history book with entertainment written all over it. The game was also the main reason for my love for history which never really materialized completely due to nobody willing to grant me the permission to take the subject for study further.

There is my army, or a part of it :D

There is my army, or a part of it 😀

Mass Effect: There is the need to explore and discover :: This game is a huge world, a universe by itself, as we travel through the galaxy, exploring planets and fighting enemies along with making friends. It is a wonderful world, as we get to communicate with people belonging to a lot of species and fight alien creatures, but at the same time, wander through strange planets and also enjoy the beauty of the animated world which is incredibly good for the graphics standards of that time. It only gets better with navigation. Also consider Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the same reason. We are never complete unless we explore.

Why would someone not explore such a beautiful universe?

Why would someone not explore such a beautiful universe?

Prototype: The possibilities in life are endless :: Prototype is a game full of immense possibilities, as we take control of a character with incredible powers and no memory as he roams free through the streets with no need to control his actions. It is like he can do almost anything he wants, and is nearly indestructible as long he ends up being too stupid. This free-roaming world without artificial barriers means that we can go around and choose some objective if we want to, or just be normal or highly abnormal. This deviation from the usual restricted gameplay is something that the life needs too.

There is also the chance of feeling the wrath of the enemy gods. So, mythology is also fun and it is immensely interesting with this game. It brings us closer to the great ancient myths which are not proving to be of much concern for the modern world. Yes, they are some beautiful stuff and really needs our attention.

Tomb Raider :: You have to solve the riddles of life yourself :: Almost the same as the Prince of Persia franchise had taught us, this game franchise also says the same. The lady protagonist Lara Croft is one person who doesn’t care about the dangers that she has to face, and goes on to solve puzzles and get her hands on some artifacts. It is the same with our lives, as the game tells us to solve our own problems of life as it is our own future at stake – just take the risk and gain what is there to achieve.

I have been a big gamer throughout my life, and used to play them till the last night before my board exams started, or sometimes even between them. It included broadband as well as LAN gaming too, and such games were Unreal Tournament, Age of Empires II: Conquerers, Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic, Quake III Arena and Age of Mythology. Only the first three remain with me now, and even as I am not that much of a gamer as I used to be, I shall still continue the gaming process very rarely.
