What Happens in Life

Six months have passed and this is the half-time for the year 2016. Well, I found that out just two days ago. The last six months have been the fastest part of an year in my whole life. I feel that I missed most of the days during these months, and that there is the need to keep writing down these days so that it won’t give me the feeling that I missed some of these. I have never really known the existence of some of these days because time has taken off with some super-powered wings.

These days, I have been thinking that there are just two sides to everything, and when we have free-time, people are just bothered about it, and when we are so busy, people are just not happy about it. These days, most of my time is spent in the office or in the traffic, and people have been asking about what I have been doing to be so busy. Well, even when I was not working, I did keep myself busy. These days, as I have a job, I am busy without any need to keep myself so.

There is something about starting from the city in a long-distance bus, and after one and half hours of traveling, you are still in that city. At the same time, you have traveled through so many pot-holes that you will feel that it is the time to retire. Meanwhile, the rain keeps coming down so hard that you have to keep the shutter down and be denied the view outside. To add to that, there is more water in the pot-holes than in the canal that runs in front of our home.

But things do keep happening, and leaving the confidential information aside, there has been the presence of a new car. Yes, finally got to my first sedan and the very first diesel car – this is also the first time I have gone for red. There has been a lot of traveling after that, even though the only day that I get to travel is a Sunday, with six working days on my list. As Id-Ul-Fitr was there, that came as some relief, and the next relief is to be on the Independence Day next month, and the month after that, Onam.

Jpeg

The number of movies I have watched at the theatres in the last six months is also at an all-time low for the last few years, as the movie count got stuck at seventeen instead of the fifty which I was planning to complete. The journey of the day that lasts from early morning to night has taken the movie time too, and I wouldn’t dare to remember the last time I watched the television – but that is really a good thing though; there was never something that good on the idiot box.

I have had good time with work, but things before and after work has been pretty much the trouble. There is that list of things which are to be done otherwise, and there are those extra things which are to be there as part of the contribution from others. Just now, I have managed to sneak in and get a stereo and the nitrogen filling for the car. The rain has made sure that I will have all the exercise I need with washing the car.

Jpeg

Maybe something interesting will come up in life outside work too! As some people say, there should be the right time for all of these; twists happen as they have occured on many occasions in my life. There have been a few interesting movies which I watched in the bus and reviewed though, including Kill Command, Deadpool, The Witch, The Boy, The Visit, Brooklyn, Sinister II, Knock Knock, The Vatican Tapes, Wrecker, Victor Frankenstein and Inside Out.

Impact of Being Good

We have always wondered about the best way to make the world a better place to live in. Well there are many ways to make a positive impact on the world, and among these right thing to make the best impact, I would choose “being good” to be the best option. doubt if many people have checked for the impact of being good. They look for the impact which they can make by being rich and influential, but the best idea, if you ask me, is to be good and remain so.

Haven’t we been appreciating good men and women in the past? Didn’t saints have a better role to play in each religion than the common people? Aren’t those people whom we respect as great men, saints and social reformers the people who were good and wanted to change the world to make it a better place not just for them, but also for the future generation? Haven’t we all agreed to the fact that these people were great and have made a positive impact?

DSC02179

Well, people have short memories. They find it difficult to remember their past, and this is more of a memory loss of convenience because they don’t want to be that good either. They want to be wealthy and famous in every way possible. They have found it easier to lie to their conscience if there is something like that left with them. If Mephistopheles had asked for their soul in return for luxuries, they would easily give it along with an extra soul from one of their friends. The world is different now, it truly is!

But one has to wonder how and why this world has changed, and when this radical change took its roots. It might not have been a sudden procedure, but it has been a powerful one, no doubt about that. Nowadays, a successful person with money and influence is a lot more liked than a good person – it is a case of shame and a reflection of the pathetic situation of our society. It should be left for a good person to make that positive impact, and a lot is to be done if the world is to have enough goodness in it.

DSC04533

I would say that the first thing about being good is to be nice to others. Actually, it is actually the most difficult things to do these days for some people. In a world of hatred, being good to others in words as well as in action is not that easy. Hate comes easy in this world, and abusing others is fun for the new generation. The truth is that nobody wants anything good to happen to others, and so there will always be the reason to hate others. As it is a natural thing, there can be no questions about it.

Hate and abuse has never been the solution. The impact that hate makes won’t stay forever, but the true change can be brought about by goodness. It is by the power of goodness that the world has to go through that change, and it has to be the light of the world, in a world which has been brought down by haters and abusers, a good number of them being taken over Facebook – do you see any goodness in social media? Well, it is quite rare if you ask me. A lot of people have been too much into showing their lack of culture.

There are many opportunities for us to do good, and it is part of our daily lives. We see people who are in need each and every day, and the impact that we can make in their lives will be a lot. It might be a small thing for us, but something that will define their lives with the impact that it creates. It is from these small and random acts of goodness that a better world comes into the picture. The responsibility for the same lies in each one of us, as we strive to make that impact – the best one possible.

For the Blogger Friend

It has been just few days after I completed the 350th post on this blog, The Tea Cerebration(s) on the 444th day of its existence, making it the fastest and the only blog of mine to reach that many number of posts. It is the newest blog which is just a little more than one year in age. It is also my fastest blog to 50,000 posts and all of my daily readers have played a big role in bringing the blog to this status. Without them, the beginning would have been a struggle like my other blogs which had almost no visitors in the first few months.

Blogger friends mean a lot to me in a world where most of the friends and relatives find it so difficult to support a blog, and the elders of the family tree will always classify this activity as the great waste of time when they compare this to what their sons and daughters are doing, earning a lot of money and getting married to people from rich families. So, I am taking this opportunity and writing this blog for one of such bloggers who has been a good friend and an amazing writer. There are a lot of them whom I have mentioned earlier, but here, I am writing for one particular blogger and supporting her in a contest.

Blogging has been the sea! It has remained strong and inspiring!

Blogging has been the sea! It has remained strong and inspiring!

Even though I started blogging with the other blogs earlier, I have had the most number of blogger friends in the last one year, which is a lot more than I ever expected, as in the beginning, the whole thing was supposed to be anonymous. I had joined many blogger communities which meant that there was significant increase in the number of Indian bloggers on my blog. Movies of the Soul had the Vampire Bat with mostly Hollywood movie reviews, and I had almost finished with writing Travel Diaries; then The Divine Epic just had one post a month and wasn’t looking forward to be a big space for writing.

But as time changed and I met a lot of good and supporting bloggers, I decided not to remain anonymous because there was nothing special about it other than being the stranger. We need our friends who are in the blogging world, and they are our inspiration. Without the other writers and readers, there is not much about posting online. They are the motivation that we need on the internet where there is too much evil. I will always be indebted to them for making the blogging experience better with the support.

It was a few months ago that I came across another blogger, Amreen who has left an impression on me with her blog, Paint the World With Words. She recently started the 100 Deeds of Change Drive which you might want to have a look at, as it intends to bring small changes in everyone’s life through sharing such work by blogging on the same at her blog. With a hundred posts about hundred deeds by different bloggers are reached, the entire series is supposed to be published as an e-book.

I have recently come to know that she has participated in a Short Literary Work Contest in TATA Literature LIVE! and has been looking for Facebook votes to win the contest. It involves logging into Facebook and going to the link which is given at the end of this blog. There you can see her entry named “amreens44” and there is a text box to enter your e-mail ID and a green button to cast your vote which you can use to support Amreen. It works very well on Google Chrome, and sharing it is also easy!

We all use Facebook a lot and support a lot of things with likes, shares and comments. It has been part of our lives for a very long time. So, this is the time for some Facebook votes from the bloggers in support of something smart and creative. Her poem speaks about the topic of Child Marriage and if she wins, she will be given this opportunity, to share this message with the world and the society! Login to Facebook and follow this link, to cast your vote for her! Your one small gesture can bring a big change in someone’s world!

My City for the Undead

It was something that they wanted to do for a long time, to build a city for the basic undead thanking their services to the New Vampire World. Without the help of the zombie minions, the New Vampire World could have never been constructed, and Dracula realized how important it would be to keep the support of the zombies as the influence of the Werewolves, Eldars and the Lich Queen were rising in the area taking advantage of the common heritage of the tomb which was shared by them all.

The Shattered Dreams refer to the four islands which lie between the New Vampire World and the Isles of Blood and comes directly under the influence of the Vampire Throne. It was on the second largest of those islands that the new city was planned to be built. There was a smaller island between that isle and the mainland which was to be connected to both lands by two bridges which were proposed to be built under the direct supervision of Dracula himself.

teny()2522

Dracula wanted to change from the usual architectural model of the Gothic and shift to the Aztec style after his recent visit to a certain unknown area in the human world. There is to be a city centre built like a ziggurat headed by two vampires and three zombies. Even though the vampires believed that the human model usually had only zombies as leaders, they preferred a change there. Attached to the city centre, there are to be two shopping centres on both sides, and two training centres on the other sides, one for civilians and the other for the keepers of the law.

There were to be more roads than buildings making sure that there were no traffic problems. The trees were to be planted on both sides of the roads as well as on the median which would also have stone paved footpaths and benches just like the sides. The Great Undead Centres are planned exactly five kilometres from the city centre on four sides of the island to make sure that the balance of control is maintained, and they were close to the sea to make sure that the immigration was also well handled.

untitled10908070

The graves which were home to the undead were built hidden between the trees on the side of the road. Small parks are to be all around. They were to lead underground into a crypt which was to be divided into five sections, with stone coffins in each. All the buildings arre to follow the same pattern, except for the house of the leaders made as a mausoleum to serve as the home for them all. The parking facilities are provided more underground, with a further layered structure designed with special walls to ensure better protection from sounds.

A facility for rainwater collection wil be also maintained on the trees. As the undead are naturally farmers despite the never-ending desire for brain biriyani, they will like the best use of rainwater without them directly affecting the crops. The farmlands are to be created in open areas between The Great Undead Centres and the city centre exactly a kilometre from the latter. The former will have the study centres one kilometre from it. The chicken farms will be attached to the regular farmlands too.

Windmills, solar panels and wells are to provide energy and water for the city so that the undead population won’t have depend on external sources. The activities would depend on the solar power, and as the zombies have evolved enough to stand the sunlight, this will only work in their favour. The main tourist destination will be the Death Ride featuring the main undead heroes who are part of the legends, like the Headless Knight, the Brain Devourer and the Resident Zombie. There is also the provision for free wi-fi with instructions as I proclaim my dream city for the undead.

Live Lodgycal Right Now

The title concerns Renault Lodgy, and it has become the new talk of the town now. This new car from Renault with competes with the market favourites like Toyota Innova and Maruti Ertiga surely has the strength to pull of a big win if you have a look at the vehicle as well as its features. Seemingly the most beautiful and also the more different among the cars of its class including the seemingly stretched Honda Mobilio, Renault Lodgy has definitely caught our attention. Lets see what our team has to say about what they wish to take with them on their next journey.

Vampire Bat: I am finally going to take this cup of tea with me on a journey. It has been a couple of disappointing long trips which I had in the last few months because there was no tea. One of them was on a harthal day that there was no option for having tea, which left me deeply hurt. I love the cup holders and flight tray here. This time, nobody is forcing me to miss my cup of tea; not even Uncle Dracula or those random humans who give regular dumb advice. I am going to bring my tea with me on this trip, and there is no force that can stop me.

lodgy (3)

Vampire Crocodile: Do you know how much I read? These people never really allowed me to take my favourite books for the journeys, but not now with all the space around in the Renault Lodgy. The journey should also be so comfortable and I might be able to read during the travel too. It will be an awesome ride. I am going to buy some extra books in the next few days for the same reason. We crocodiles are not known for being the intellectual ones, but I am going to change that, which is why this sojourn is going to be very special for me.

Vampire Owl: I am going to take these cricket equipment with me. It has been such a long time since I last played a cricket match. It has been so long that I almost forgot how hold the bat. This is kind of depressing for most of the Indians, and even I have always loved to play the game rather than watch it. I am going to take these equipment with me on the Renault Lodgy to the ground far away. Yes, we vampires play cricket too. You got any problem with that? We take flying catches, and we are the ones who first inspired the diving catches. Renault Lodgy has space for my full collection.

lodgy (2)

Vampire Alligator: I am taking my camera with the tripod. Renault Lodgy is such a beauty which inspires photography. I will need to stop it somewhere on the way and take a few awesome snaps outside and inside the vehicle. Renault Lodgy at a nice natural background – it will look too good; I am also hoping to extend the journey further to those places which are rarely visited. It will be like a world inside another world – an interesting thought for our annual meeting to ponder about, right? Yes, Vampire Hamster, you are next, in the absence of the Vampire Crow, Vampire Cat and Vampire Raven.

Vampire Hamster: I have actually forgotten my basic idea, but I am going to share these ideas from Vampire Panda and Vampire Penguin. They wish to bring their pets with them, and the latter also wants to bring his gaming console with him as it seems to be a major part of his life. The former wants to bring his personal computer, and that reminds me that I wish to bring the printer and speakers too. I think that Renault Lodgy has so much space that we should think about adding a few other things to the list.

lodgy (1)

That would be all the Team Vampire with what they wish to bring with the Renault Lodgy. They are not that different from us, right? What would be your things to take on a journey in Renault Lodgy? I am sure that Renault Lodgy has caught your attention as it did for me; it is something that Toyota Innova and Maruti Ertiga never did for me during the launch. May be Renault Lodgy has something special in store, more than what meets the eye with the first look. #LiveLodgycal

I’m participating in the #LiveLodgycal contest with Renault in association with BlogAdda to get a chance to be a part of the #LiveLodgycal Drive in Goa.

Need to Remain Evil

[The story so far: The wizards join in the grand tower to make sure that the sons and daughters choose nothing other than the Dwarven engineering or the Elven healing. The Wizard of Wind takes another step towards the same as he receives the book “Guide to Destroying the Hopes of Others” and advice from the Dwarven Eldar which he takes to The Wizard of Life; he thus attains knighthood. Meanwhile, the rest of the magical world remains free of the ridiculous thought procedures of the wizards. ***The images used in this post are screenshots from my time spent in the game, Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic which I highly recommend.]

“I am sorry, but I can’t hear you” shouted the Wizard of Wind through the personal magic portal.

“You should be able to hear me, because your portal is newer, and it even got the touch screen” shouted the Wizard of Life.

“I know. I got the touch screen just to show people this new technology which can be used with the magic. It is not of any use to me. I just need to show people that I am awesome, that is all” replied the Wizard of Wind.

“Yes, even I want to do the same only. I am hoping to prove that some people whom I don’t like are so bad that it will make me seem like the better person. I will just write a magical letter to everyone that these people are very bad, and also add some psychology to it to prove that they are mentally unstable”.

The wizards join at the central tower...

“I don’t think that people are going to believe you, especially if you add the part about being mental. It becomes a case of spreading hatred against somebody. You can just they that they are not right, and also that they are bad” Wizard of Wind came with another opinion.

“I have been sending letters related to such things about my wife’s family for so many years, because I can’t really blame our wizard and sorceress teams. It feels so good after to have blamed the others. Well, we are all so awesome right? They are the others, and we should blame them only. It gives me so much satisfaction that I can make others seem bad in the eyes of the world. Even though they are all lies, it provides me with the happiness which can’t be compared to anything else, not with the material wealth or even a life in heaven”.

“Actually, the material wealth is very important. It is what should define our lives. This actually brings me to my son, and yes while talking about all the good things, my son and his wife come to my mind. Do you know that how much they earn? I might have told this already, but I need to say this so many times every day, and otherwise, I can’t sleep. And you shouldn’t write bad about the family of your wife, especially if they are lies. It is bad, and instead why don’t you write a letter about our greatness and send them to everyone? After all, we are all big achievers. We should write a book about how great we are and it will automatically make it clear that the others are not good enough” Wizard of Wind gave the idea.

“But I have to speak ill about others. It is the only thing which I have done for the last few decades. I hate everyone who has achieved anything as long as they are part of my wife’s family. It bothers me so much. We should be the superior ones, right? I mean we are like a high caste, the grand wizard legacy which goes back to that time when we were married, and I hated her because she was from the island. I mean, we are like a group of legendary wizards and sorcerers, and what is she but coming from that island far away where people seems to have so much culture. It made me so jealous” Wizard of Life added.

“Actually, they were the superior ones, better civilized, and better cultured even at that time…”.

“No! Absolutely not. We were always the greatest. We have been a united group of brothers and sisters who have loved each other, and have known how to do the right thing for such a long time that…” Wizard of Life kept adding new lines.

The rest of the world outside the Dwarven-High Elf territory

“Until the day of the partition. Of course, I wasn’t there, but I have heard what you people were doing at that time, taking sides and giving it a nice fight” added the Wizard of Wind.

“That is only partially true” remarked the Wizard of Life.

“Which part is not true?” asked the Wizard of Wind.

“The part about the fight. I didn’t get to do anything. I was just standing there and listening to all this. I retired from the Great Wizard Council International after that”.

“You just left from there? You can do that?” wondered the Wizard of Wind.

“No, I just took the Voluntary Retirement Programme. It is a fair deal, and as it was the best time with a nice offer, it didn’t do that bad to my career”.

“Did the early retirement bring anything better in you?” asked the Wizard of Wind.

“Yes, I bought a hawk to deliver more letters about others being useless and mentally unstable. I had too much free time after that, you know”.

“So the idle mind remains the devil’s workshop? What they say is true for wizards too”?

“I don’t know about the devil, but I have only good intentions”.

“Yes, but nothing good actually comes out of it; but money is everything – all the things depends on it” remarked the Wizard of Wind.

“But still, I am the Wizard of Life, and I am the oldest and the greatest of them all as I am also the Wizard of Mind” proclaimed the Wizard of Life.

“Yes, title is pretty much working for now” said the Wizard of Wind.

The Conclave Saga: Part I

Do you know that Kochi Biennale is going on and I didn’t attend it, but I am there for the Delhi Conclave? It is strange indeed, because it was so easy for me to go for that art exhibition which I admire and is close enough to my place. But life do provides one with enough twists, and I was there at Taj Palace Hotel at Delhi, and not at Cochin or its surroundings islands – not looking at art, but listening to some of the best of our nation. Thank you BlogAdda! – http://www.blogadda.com.

Lets get to the first day then. The highest point of day one was surely with the Master Blaster, and undoubtedly the biggest Hero of Our Times from our land, Sachin Tendulkar. There are only three cricketers whom I ever wanted to see, and with this programme, it is one down and two to go. You can make a guess who all the other two are, and with the first one, it is easy. He was indeed the reason why many people told me that they will shoot me if I don’t go to the Conclave.

When you see such clouds on the sky, good things can happen to you :P

When you see such clouds on the sky, good things can happen to you 😛

It was amazing to hear from the legend, as he continued to thrive in his humble nature throughout the talk, and there was that moment when he gave tribute to Roger Federer as his favourite player and someone who has no replacement – as God’s gift. It is always a special feeling to listen to one legend giving credits to another. We already know that they are good friends with each other with a photo that we usually see on Facebook, but this is even more special.

With his hopes to see a better world supported by the philanthropy, the first big talk of “The World Remade” had finished. It was followed two talks related more to Politics about which I shall not talk about without being better informed about it. My relation to National Politics has been like a void; the knowledge about Kerala Politics should be a little more though. I am surely working on it with my PSC studies, and may be I can discuss about this topic in a good way later.

And there is the legend - notice the divine light that burns bright ;)

And then there is the legend – notice the divine light that burns bright 😉

One interesting topic in between the two political talks was about being educated with a degree, but not having a job. There is a dialogue from a Malayalam movie, CID Moosa which I wish to share here – in the flick, a character keeps saying, “It is about me, about me and me only” (translated from Malayalam). Yes, it was the feeling that I first got while listening to that talk. Rajiv Pratap Rudy made some valid points there, and the rest including Chetan Bhagat provided the audience with something to think about.

The question was asked about the need for dignity of labour. Why is one job superior to other, is a question that becomes extremely relevant considering the current scenario. Well, how can we expect that to happen in a world when the parents want their children to be engineers or doctors? I have been listening to this for eternity. An engineer is an engineer and a doctor is a doctor. Then who am I? Did I drop out of the ninth circle of hell with my MA English according to the society? Do I need to add something before my name to improve my quality instead of being a good person?

It is good to have an identity - we don't always get to have one.

It is good to have an identity – we don’t always get to have one.

I pondered about it for a lot of time over tea, and I had to have a lot of it because it was extremely cold inside the room, and I have already written about my reaction to cold. I was born in March, which is one of the hottest months of Kerala, and I am more inclined towards heat than cold. We grew up playing cricket and football at mid-noon and not bothering about any globe of fire over our heads. This is also one of my reasons to be addicted to tea rather than any of those colder drinks.

I remember seeing “chawal” somewhere on the list of food, and I only recalled my lack of Hindi vocabulary despite studying Hindi in school and scoring well in the subject. The word actually meant “death” in Malayalam, just like “chor” meant rice in Malayalam. I just looked at a few other names, which I won’t be sharing here, but what I surely want to share is something about Lisa Haydon.

One of those interesting things which I found about tea :D

One of those interesting things which I found about tea 😀

My admiration for this lady increased a lot after this talk. Yes, her name reminds me of my second favourite Australian cricketer of all time, but that is not the point here. She was there to share the idea that we are more than what wear, and a person is not his or her dress. Even as she might have surely meant it more about women, it is something that has a bigger scope – the judgment made based on one’s clothing is rather too much to handle.

The talk about the future followed, which included a few things about the future of science and technology, and the one about 3D printing was more interesting than the others. The temperature inside the hall was getting lower, and the well-known soul guru Deepak Chopra did come with some interesting points, but the talk was too long and not always there making the point, I would say. There were a few things taken from his talk for sure.

You can avoid and forget many things, but not the lovely tea!

You can avoid and forget many things, but not the lovely tea!

Then came the afternoon session that we were waiting for, and it was “The Kat with Nine Lives” – Katrina Kaif. Yes, she is among my favourites of Bollywood. I was impressed by the way in which she answered almost every question, especially those related to her personal life. But what makes me wonder is why are people so interested in the personal lives of the celebrities, and what the relevance of these questions are, especially on a stage like this.

May be it was meant to add the comic relief, but we were never going through a tragedy like in the case of a Porter scene in Macbeth or like the situation which demanded something like a grave-digger scene in Hamlet. Well, my best guess is that a lot of fans who will watch this programme on the television or internet might want such questions. It was indeed funny and enjoyable, and I would like to applaud Katrina for the way in which she dealt with those questions.

The talk about the India-Pakistan friendship which followed had some good thoughts to take home too. The first thing that came to my mind when listening to the same was about the Malayalam movie, Picket 43 starring Prithviraj Sukumaran (My take on the movie: https://moviesofthesoul.wordpress.com/2015/02/01/picket-43). I recommend that movie too. Yes, we need our neighbours to be our friends, but we are still left with that question if it is possible.

The crossfire stuff related to elections which are won on the internet gave some interesting points too, even though I have been completely unaware of such things behind the that election about which I only read on the newspapers. The talk about Afghanistan was an interesting addition which ended the day’s programs with a hope for peace in the nation which has been suffering. #Conclave15

***And thanks to my blogger friends there: Shoma Abhyankar, Arvind Passey, Yogita Aggarwal and Shreya Das – yes, there is the Part 2 with the final day; this has gone too long already 🙂

That World Remade

I have often felt that my life needed to be remade with a time machine or just a random superpower to go back in time, but on a larger scale, it has never been just about my life. It has been about the world. There are too many things wrong with this world, and there is a certain disintegration happening around, no matter how hard the optimists try to deny it. The world is slowly, but steadily progressing towards an early chaos, and even though the human beings are mostly responsible for the same, it is our world as a whole that suffers.

A World Without the Walls: Our world stands divided. The first thing I wish to bring out a world remade is a land which is not separated by its strange and ridiculous walls. Nature has created its own barriers, but for maintaining the harmony, but why has humans created new ones? In a new world, there shall be no separation in the name of religion, caste, race, language or any other. It is the time to take down the wall and rebuild – actually, as soon as the walls are down, the need to rebuild will be a lot lesser.

No, you don't need to travel to space - the new world is right here.

No, you don’t need to travel to space this time – the new world is right here.

Where Mutual Respect is Evident: A world of mutual respect is the world of equality. It is only by considering the other person as significant and respectable as ourselves is the next step in my world remade. There is no exact other in the new world, but just another version of yourself that exists like a mirror image of one another. Despite the fact that everyone look different, each shall be the mirror images of one another reflected by the same acts of love that they do to one another.

Where Love Dismantles Hatred: The existence of mutual hatred is evident in our world, which shall be taken out from the root itself. An obliteration of the hatred should be an aim embedded in all human beings of the new world. Can we destroy something which has driven humanity forward throughout the ages in too many cases like the Nazi Holocaust of Jews and the Turkish Holocaust of the Armenians? May be with love in a new world where hatred has absolutely no place.

How good a world can you build as a creator? What all can it possess?

How good a world can you build as a creator? What all can it possess?

Where Knowledge is Power: In this new world, knowledge replaces the prevalent method of lying and cheating to get to the top. Knowing is the first step to understanding the truth, and ignorance has brought too much chaos in the current world. Some people have just been to reluctant to know. It will be knowledge that will take the centre stage and guide the new world to the light. It shall not be money or power, and it can never be the “special ability to degrade others for one’s own benefit”.

Where Opinion is Valuable: The new world will be further built on the opinions of the people after having its base. Opinions will play a big role in advancing the world to a future that it envisages through every drop of sweat this shed on making the situation better. Here, opinions will be heard, and there will be nobody blasting the heads off or abusing people who exercise their right to opinion. Here, freedom of speech will not be abuse, but valuable opinion with mutual respect.

I haven’t seen this as an easy task with a new world coming out of nowhere. Even if I am given the task of this creator or is made the one who rebuilds a world that goes down in chaos, it is up-to the humanity to make this continue to work. If everything goes fine, and after a few years of awesomeness that can bring certainty about this new world, I can exclaim with pride and happiness – “Here’s The World, Remade!”

Diversity has its Unity

There is something about pride being the Devil’s favourite sin. But what Mephistopheles hopes to thrive on as per the instructions of Lucifer is rather that pride that a man or woman has on oneself and that selfishness which boosts vanity; it is what the Devil always roots for in man among the Seven Deadly Sins. It is from the lack of care for the other that the pride arises, and it has made man fall beneath the abyss, just like Christopher Marlowe had shown us with the example of Doctor Faustus in a tragic story of human devastation.

With a population that goes above a hundred crores and having a wonderfully diverse culture, an outsider will always have the tendency to think that India is not one – but that is not true. We are one, and this unity among ourselves is rather boosted by the diversity that is there. We actually love the customs of others and respect it, and there lies the pride which extends to the one who is seemingly outside one’s culture, but still part of one’s own extended family. There are exceptions, but considering our population, they are very few. It is a strong message for the outside world.

Here comes the question of being proud, yet again. Yes, we have the right to be proud about our nation, and it is entirely different from being proud of oneself boosting that vanity. This right to be proud is something that we gain by doing something for the nation and keeping its traditions alive rather than something that comes up only when Indian cricket team wins the World Cup or as the means to abuse people from other countries. You are part of a nation by birth, which is rather the accident and you earn the right to be part of the nation when you do what is good for your country. Here, we can see that it includes people who are different from oneself, coming from different cultures.

I remember what I was told when I was a child – that India is a lot like Europe, but we have always had people who had chosen to stay close to each other despite having different languages, religions, cultures and traditions. It is something that would have been entirely difficult at the early times, but has been managed since 1947. We have been one nation of different people who have respected and celebrated our differences like no other nation. It is a message that India has for the world, to respect the other, and it is a message that India should always carry. It is that message that the majority of Indians have had with them.

Lufthansa does portray the Indian side as they could, but the fact remains that India is not just the land of Bollywood, Namaste and one kind of food. India has strong movie industries in the South, with Tamil movies having a huge fan following (I remember seeing the posters of Anniyan at parts of Malaysia), and there are Malayalam movies always coming up with the intellectually superior stuff plus there are also the strong Telugu and Kannada movie industries. Cinema of West Bengal always had my attention, and the film-making occurs in rather too many languages for someone from another nation.

And in the case of namaste, there can also be namaskaram, vanakkam, namaskar and many others changing throughout the nation. At the same time, the diversity of food is rather mouth-watering, and not something to worry about. This existence and the respect for diversity is something that India can give to the rest of the world. There is the message of peaceful co-existence and harmony is something that some part of the world does seem to agree with and some other parts need to check and think about. Everywhere in the world, we see wars over small disputes and nations wishing to divide themselves on the basis of something or anything just increasing the number of world nations further, and we wonder why it is so hard to live with people who are different.

There are not many things as beautiful as having a diversity among people. It certainly supports love and care for those who belong to different races. Some people would feel that diversity is a curse and having the same kind of people who think alike will support unity further. But that is clearly not the point as far as you can go through India. There will always be one reason or the other for people who want to hate and divide. In India, it is the diversity that is the beauty which powers the unity, and when we realize that and love the other, it is the message that we pass on to the world, and it is what it needs as turbulence is always waiting for a chance. This example that India has set surely has made some impact already, and it is undeniable.
