The Ten Movie Commandments

It is during these times when there are more fans with hate than true lovers of movies, which has made me come up with the Ten Commandments for true movie lovers, that¬†I had earlier posted on Facebook. We have had fans of actors and actresses spreading hatred all over the internet earlier, and now it has been replaced by the fans of movies, which is clearly reflected in the abuse which the Baahubali fans have been producing all over. This makes one wonder if they actually get paid for abusing others by someone related to the movie, and only God knows why they are feeling so insecure to bring those sexist and racist comments even with such huge box-office collections. So, here are the commandments which will be helpful in finding the original movie lovers among us, and all statements will start with “Will” in honour of Will Smith ūüėõ

1. Will have more than one all-time favourite movie different from the crowd: Well, it is not necessary to love a movie just because it comes from your language, your state, your country or religion, and most brainless people are to feel that one movie is the best because a lot of people are saying that, but it is not, for things are rather subjective.

2. Will appreciate the choice of others not to watch a movie, or not to like one particular popular movie: You will surely have to get rid of these people who keep forcing you to watch a movie or to tell someone else that you like this movie so much, when you don’t. They are playing with your free will, and just ban them from your lives.

3. Will feel no need to watch a movie just due to everyone else watching it: Okay, so everyone says that this movie is so great, and that if you don’t watch it, you will miss something great in your life. Well, this is pathetic thinking, and a third rate way of making others watch a movie – these people are mostly fakes, as one movie is certainly not life.

4. Will not like a movie just because it has his/her favourite actor/actress: Some actors feel the need to be treated as VIPs and sometimes, they just say that they are also common man. Then there are those fans which are so dumb that they keep on believing all those lies which are thrown at them. Movies make stars, and not the other way around.

5. Will not keep talking for about 100 times on how great a movie is: Yes, this movie is the greatest movie of all-time and you need to watch it – they will keep saying all the time, not just by mouth, but also on different posts for no reason. They need to be sent to Antarctica immediately, because there are more significant things in life.

6. Will not reveal the big suspense of a movie publicly: Some people are just too much into revealing the suspense of a movie for no reason; maybe they like some other actor who hasn’t acted in that particular movie. But this selfish act has no explanation; it is nothing that a true movie fan should do.

7. Will not abuse or support abuse of other movie fans: You have no right to abuse people for not liking the movie which you feel is the greatest – maybe you are just dumb that you liked that movie; it doesn’t matter if you have a whole nation liking the same movie, because the whole world can be wrong. Abusing and supporting the same is just pure evil.

8. Will support the other viewers’ right to have opinions: Why is that you want everyone to accept that your favourite movie as the greatest movie of all-time? Instead, it will be nice to grow up and not keep showing up on others’ posts to say that, especially on those strangers’ profiles as if the director or producer of a movie is paying you to overrate a movie.

9. Will not pretend to like a movie just to seem cool: People who likes this movie is cool, so thinks your friends. But you don’t need to be dumb and like the movie just for that reason. You just need to like the movie if you like it. Otherwise, you are just being an idiot with no real opinion about the movie or anything in life.

10. Will be a good boy/girl at the theatre causing no disturbance: There are people in those movie halls who are just nuisance and nothing else. There are those who howl, clap or make other noises in the halls – there are others who just abuse, and we also have those who talk loudly along with the ones who spit, put the legs on front seats etc – all need to be expelled.

Navigation through Social Media

There is evil hidden everywhere social media, especially Facebook and Twitter. So navigating through this particular space is never going to be that easy as we are always against the bad guys. So, here I am going to share a few guidelines on how to identify these people at the earliest so that the navigation can be rather smooth. If you have been talking something about Malayalam movies, there is a good chance that you will come across such terrible creatures. I have recently come across one while talking about the movie Charlie and too many people do that in support of Ennu Ninte Moideen.

The guidelines mentioned here are based on my experiences only and this can actually vary for each person. These creatures can actually come through a different path, and we will always have to be careful with them because there is absolutely nothing positive about them; they will make the attempt to drain all the good things out of you because they are good at nothing else except for hate and abuse which they inherit from their friends an family, working on it to make these factors a lot worse. Here are the guidelines.

1. There will be no original photo :: They wouldn’t really put their own photo because they have to use the profile for abusing others. There are common photos which they use, which are of movie stars, cartoons, cricketers, football players and sometimes the photo randomly found or their own edited photo. It is time that Facebook and Twitter provides verified accounts for those who have voter’s ID and aadhaar card to get rid of these fakes. This way, we can also know who these people are when they abuse; everyone should be made to know the culture of each and everyone who hate their fellow countrymen for no reason.

DSC03770

Photos of nature can be nice for these people too!

2. Capital letters won’t be discovered :: It is difficult for them to type in capital letters because some of them are yet to discover where to use them and the others just need something different for what might be their special profile for abuse. Well, if they had something in their brains, they would have been doing something positive for their nation, but as they are only abusing their own countrymen, I don’t see why they would use capital letters even in their name. In a special navigation which is powered by hatred and traveling towards unlimited abuse, there will be rarely any capital letter or even full stop. Sometimes, there is not even a name!

3. Speaks in other languages :: He will take the opportunity only to speak in regional languages as much as possible. This quality which is a lot seen among Malayalis becomes bad when he is speaking in a forum, page or group which has a majority which doesn’t understand the language and most of the things that this person will be talking about are related to abuse. It could be the words which they are using in their family, but using them in public space brings trouble to social media navigation unless the owner or moderator takes the steps to ban them early.

4. Pretends to be intellectual :: This is quite a necessity for them as they steal quotes from famous people and put it on their profile, or sometimes add them in the middle of a paragraph as their own words because they are not good enough to write even one sentence without mistakes. They are always sitting in front of the computer ready to copy something from here or there. It is something that they really need to cover their lack of culture, and so they will only keep searching for the same even on the profiles of others. When they find something, they shamelessly steal it and it on their profile.

DSC00526

And such a person has his or her vision clouded by hate all the time!

5. Shall surely be a mindless fan of someone :: This is one feature that will be a clear part of these people and their lives. They will be supporting one person or two so much that they will be infatuated with that particular celebrity forever; there will be even sports teams. So, they will keep searching for those who are talking about these celebrities and randomly attack them or even the fans of other celebrities. They navigate through all the social media, and find someone because they have no other job. These are the kind of people who like to hate their own friends and family for their favourite celebrities! When you navigate through Facebook or Twitter, if you come close to these creatures, be prepared; or you can just block them instantly.

Celebrities and their Fans

I was watching an episode of Vellanakalude Naadu (The Land of White Elephants) on Asianet channel on last Sunday, and I found the idea talked about to be a very interesting one and more valid than anything else for the present time. The satirical tv series has been doing a good job every weekend, but this one can be considered the one episode more close to life than any other. They have come up with an idenity separate from the big satire program Marimayam on Mazhavil Manorama and it feels good.

The episode dealt with the blind fans and their great role-model celebrities. It showed us how ridiculous the celebrity worship and the fan clubs happen to be. There is absolutely no point in these as the fans are never really the admirers as they should be. There are only two kinds of fans who are usually seen during a movie release; one is the type which got no ability to think for themselves and blindly worship a person for some strange reason, and another is the kind of fan who stick to this for material benefits.

Yes, there are fans who are not part of these two groups, but they are rare and as they don’t hate and abuse others, their voices are less heard. The other groups of fans whose lives are based on hate will make them heard because they are intolerant. What they do in the name of their favourite celebrities happen to be the curse of the movie industry. I have always believed that a movie should be watched and appreciated without caring about who acted in the flick.

vellana

We know the most significant work which these fans do. They go around telling everyone and posting on the Facebook media that a terrible, average or above average movie of their favourite actor or actress is awesome. They abuse people who say that the movie is not that good. They also degrade the movies of other celebrities telling everyone that they are pathetic. Some do it because they are blind followers and others for some material benefits. But both types of fans are such pain on the social media.

What they do in the theatres happen to be even more ridiculous. They make sounds in the darkness and clap and scream so much for their favourite actors that listening to the dialogues is impossible. The howling which they do for the movies of other actors make sure that listening to dialogues is hard otherwise too. They try their best to make the theatre experience hell of the common man and make it even worse for the family audience. According to them, the world belongs to them only.

The fans also do pour milk over the giant flex hoarding of their favourite actors. Well, wastage of food when children are in need of nutrition comes easy, doesn’t it? Earlier, there was an incident in which a fan climbed over a flex hoarding of their favourite actor at Thiruvananthapuram and fell down while trying to give the huge thing a shower in milk. What did he earn other than the loss of his own life? It is a strange thing about life, that you make the people who love cry for you in the name of a person who doesn’t know or care.

The celebrities need their fans to make them popular and the fans need money while some fans are just dumb. The celebrities will surely make advantage of this, creating fake campaigns about their greatness, simplicity, skills, social work and everything else. If you see a lot of such posts from fans¬†about “simplicity”, “social work” and the rest of the qualities, there is a big chance that these¬†situations are created and paid for. It is not the media and fans that need the celebrities, but it is the other way around; otherwise, we would have seen the celebrities talking against the fan clubs – do we see such a thing? Not at all. Vellanakalude Naadu on Sunday showed how disgusting this hero worship is, in a clear manner.

Fans and Nonsense

There is a coin that we have to deal with as bloggers. On one beautiful side, there are those good people who agree or disagree with us and appreciate our work or give us suggestion. On the other side, there are those people of the nonsense who don’t agree with what we say and and talk to us as if we have not right to opinion. When I write, I come across both, and as the comments are moderated, everyone only¬†see those people commenting in a meaningful, decent, appropriate manner, respecting the opinions of others – the rest are those whose comments don’t get approved here. I am not perfect, none of us are; but we should try to be decent.

As I am a person with my own individuality, I can write only as who I am, and with what I know and what I have experienced. Arrogance¬†is not acceptable to this blog, not only when you talk to me, but also to my consistent readers as reply to their comment. Most of the curse words and degrading talks are banned on my blog, especially when it comes from someone unknown – yes, there are lots of people who arrive with what seems to be fake details, to comment. I usually don’t accept their comments, except for some of the people who have makes sense in a good way.

Darkness spreads. But how fast can that happen?

Vision of some people are like this – they can’t see through it; a typical fan problem.

If it is something that lessens my readership, I am okay with it because mutual respect is something that is needed in a discussion. People without it are not welcome here, especially with fake profiles. This happens mostly with anything written about movies, and I remember someone making free abuse with multiple profiles in the early 2000s when I was trying my luck at writing. At that time, I thought that some local people were too obsessed with their stars, and what surprises me is that the person didn’t read the review at all.

But that was never just the local phenomenon, for the same had extended not just beyond the South, but also beyond the nation. There are people who pounce on us from different parts of world, and it mostly makes no sense at all when they start talking. No nation is free from such people. Some do abuse, and others try to bring a comment about their favourite celebrity being the greatest of all time, that too when most of the people in this part of the world never even heard that name; forget liking the person. May be they need to pay someone to write like they need. There will be people willing for the same, and they can stick to reading those posts.

I understand that some people find some celebrities to be awesome, even though almost none of them contribute to the welfare of their fellow citizens. They list the achievements of the person, but I have no interest in the same. The performance of one person as a character is not based on his or her other performances, what she does at that certain moment to the character and to the work. The truth is that I have never mentioned on my writings that someone is a terrible actor or actress, but some people find it so. They comes under many fake profiles on the same day to prove their points; it is nice to have many e-mail accounts, right?

But then I realize that I have written nothing about that person as these people suggest. The problem with these blind fans is that they read between the lines and find some word which I used and declare it to be against the celebrity when it is the character I am talking about. When I write about the characterization, they feel that the character is the celebrity and it is about that person. When I call something a mistake in the movie, they feel that they are talking about their favourite celebrity. Then they ask “why and how” here and there, but the truth is that I don’t owe them an answer unless the mask is removed. But can it be removed unless they can see things from the viewpoint of the person who writes, according to his location, his experiences? It makes one remember about the message of the movie, Life of Josutty.

There is a special option for travel; to row the boat to the middle of the river and jump.

Isn’t¬†writing about what one feels is the truth that matters even when alone?

There are times when I write an introduction about a work and the blind fan is already on it with “why and how” questions when I clearly say in the end that more posts with explanations are to follow. They only see particular words near the names of their favourite celebrities and they pounce on it without understanding that it is something which has positive sides for the celebrity and can be expanded in favour of the person. I wonder when these blind fans will be respectful to those with opinions when all of us actually respect what the fans say? Is the opinion reserved to them only when they don’t even fully read what we write before jumping into conclusions? None of these people will get more posts about their celebrities because people with no respect for opinions don’t deserve to get the opinions. The cricket fans are doing really well to match up with the actor/actress fans because they think that their favourite player is beyond criticism. Actors, actresses, sportsmen and all become rich celebrities with lots of fans, and not those who contribute to the society with devotion and sacrifice. It is a strange world indeed.

Lies and Hate: Origins

Vampire Owl: Greetings, my dear vampire apprentices. I know that you hate to come for the classes on the day after a holiday, but you had to arrive today because we are lagging in studies and this syllabus has to be completed before the Pooja holidays with another set ready to be finished before Christmas holidays. I have absolutely no idea how to do it, but I will explain the longest chapter of the book right now; it is about humans and their hate. It has facts about how, why and when they lie and also about the origins of their terrible attitude towards their fellow human beings which puts even the ultimate evil werewolves to shame.

Vampire Crow: Is this more like an origin story which the superheroes get? I have often heard that “hate” is a superpower that the humans have managed to achieve by centuries of hating each other citing different reasons.

Vampire Owl: Yes, it is true. We can call it The Human Lies and Hate: Origins. May be we can even start a television series on it and then the programme can go on and on for a long time because there is so much material on the same.

Vampire Hamster: Excuse me sir, but were they bitten by a radioactive spider or did they escape from another planet before it was destroyed?

Vampire Owl: Absolutely not. They are from this planet only, which is a case of depression and extreme sadness. Mother Earth often complains to us about the same. Once she said that she will even jump into a black hole to get rid of these humans of hate.

transyl (2)

Vampire Raven: We can’t wait to hear the origin story then!

Vampire Owl: Okay. This story starts long ago in a cave with a few cavemen and women. There was this guy who used to sing so well. One day, a girl told the others that she didn’t like the song. A fat man smashed her on the skull with a club screaming that it is an insult to the person and she died instantly. It is the case of the first fan in the world, and this fat guy is the representation of all the fans who exist these days with no concern for the others, only living to hate for the sake of their favourite celebrity. This is the hate which they carried over to many other aspects of life.

Vampire Alligator: So, the celebrity worship already existed at that time and has been the mother of all hate, long before religion.

Vampire Owl: Yes, of course. Often, religion also degrades itself to some celebrity worship instead of developing a personal relationship with God. The only thing that the fans have always worried about is on how to hate everyone for one person whom they haven’t met in real life. The truth has always been that this celebrity will never really meet these fans and neither will be they ask for their services.

Vampire Crow:¬†But still, shouldn’t these celebrities be held responsible for the actions of these fans because if they were better people in control of their admirers in a sensible manner, their fans could have had more sense?

Vampire Owl: I would consider such a thing a lot necessary, especially when fans resort to so much nonsense in their names. If these celebrities had honour, it would have carried on to the fans. It is the celebrity who is often reflected on his or her fans, and it is clear that they like to have people under them who worships and respects. Celebrities mostly don’t believe in equality; otherwise they would have controlled their fans up-to an extent. They look down upon the normal person.

Vampire Raven: I would say that we should get rid of the celebrities in the human world and establish the state of equality there.

Vampire Owl: We are not authorized to do that. We could still put some light into the brains of blind fans, but unfortunately, they are filled with this pure fan trash. The only thing they can do in reply to a review is to keep saying how awesome their favourite stars are. Unfortunately for them, people with brains don’t care. If a character in a movie or television series is talked about, they will instantly say that the celebrity is the greatest performer of all time and so he or she has done very well in this work too. Otherwise, they will come with the cliche statements that “I think he/she has done better than everyone else because she has acted more and has experience” and “I don’t understand why you didn’t like the amazing performance”. A better question would have been about why people have opinions. Their last weapon is abuse which they use when all the brain cells are dead. These mostly arise from the fact that they know that their favourite actor/actress is not really good, and they have to prove it with lies.

Vampire Alligator: Humans hating humans for some strange celebrity who is known at one part of the world and is unknown somewhere else – it is a strange world. I still don’t get why humans have to become fans of other humans when all humans should be equal. I also don’t get why the fans keep trying to impose their opinion on others. I thought human life was in a free world where there was freedom of opinion. These fans can’t even accept a workas what it is, and the actors as characters. The only thing that matters to them are related to what is written about their celebrities about which no person with common sense cares about.

Vampire Owl: Yes, the truth is that for people with intelligence, for what matters is just what is shown on the screen, and not who these actors and actresses are. The human fans are real curse on the universe, and all the wars in the human world were fought by the fans. These miserable fans have killed because of being fans to their race, religion, language, caste and many others. It is because they are the fans of these things and when someone else comes with an opinion which is not close to this, they go for hate and war. All the human problems were always caused by the blind fans.

transyl (1)

Vampire Crow: It is a surprise that they still exist. The celebrity fans are the worst kind. All other fans mostly got some better cause.

Vampire Owl: Yes. Please be careful when going to the human world. There are too many fans who can’t understand the meaning of opinion. Last time I talked to one, he asked me “What is an opinion? We don’t appreciate it. Don’t you know that she is the greatest actress of all time? She will never get an award. But awards are for dummies. That is all which you need to know”. You can note that down.

Absence of Thinking

The easiest thing to do in the world is to imitate without thinking. A few months ago, when the movie Premam released a few months ago, people were praising it so much, and overrating the movie just came naturally to them. Later, when they got bored, they started abusing the movie in the name of corrupting the youth. Now, they are abusing it because another movie, Ennu Ninte Moideen has released. The truth is that none of these activities make any sense.

Unfortunately, this is how some people work. One person come with something and creates many fake accounts to post the same thing everywhere; then most of the people just follow it without thinking. This is mostly initiated by fan-boys. This imitation of others is caused by people having no opinion by themselves. They will think as if this is the new trend, as everyone is saying that this new movie is good and the other old one is bad, it will go like this: “I will just follow the same even though I had earlier said that the other old movie was awesome”.

premam (3)

This comes as no surprise at all, because people change their colours so easily. They are always looking for a chance to degrade something or the other. They come up with many dumb reasons, and there is rarely any sense in it, because they are the same people who had said the exact opposite some time ago. In a few months, they will get another movie or person to love or hate. It is depressing that the educated people who use Facebook degrade to such a situation and fall into the traps set by fan-boys.

The biggest shame is that even the words used to do this remains the same. One day, one movie is “art” and when another one comes, these people showers abuse on the movie and praises the new one. Sometimes, it is the other way around. One has to wonder who creates fake profiles in Facebook and comes up with one trend or the other. Some people try to say that they are speaking for everyone and they know everything, but unfortunately for them, there is a huge community who don’t post in pathetic communities, and they know the truth.

Then there is the spread of hatred towards people. They call everyone names for no real reason. Sometimes the good people wonder where these guys find these names, and the reasons which make no sense One has to wonder where they find so much of such evil- is it from home itself? Do their parents teach to hate or is it just inherited from the friends? Finding hatred is easier, but the realization of the truth that people find so much time in hate is depressing.

premam (2)

May be most of the people don’t post and don’t like these posts can choose not to watch the movie supported by the maniacs who abuse. Their favourite stars could also be avoided, and then the superstars will tell their fans and fan clubs not to be abusive. They will have to listen to their favourite stars, right? May be they can use another title for the favourite movies of their superstars – Lies, Hate and Abuse; it is what they do. Their superstars can use the titles to their advantage because it is truth and people will instantly believe it.

The absence of brain is clearly evident in those posts. With mutual respect dead, is there any chance of nice comments from these people? Not anytime soon, I guess. But if movies are said to corrupt the youth, may be it is about some of these celebrities of whom these people are fans of. Will there be equality as long as there are blind fans? Superstars are created and so are the junior superstars. The people with real acting skills won’t be there to found. Whose fault is that? Those who imitate others and hate or love things like everyone else do?

Why do People Hate?

The question that has made me wonder today is about why people hate others so much. I have thought about this for very long, but today, I have felt it a lot more. I was wandering through some Facebook Pages and have managed to find too much hate. I see hatred towards people for the religion, nationality and many other factors, along with hating random people; none of them whom these haters have actually known in their lives. The most interesting thing is that these people have actually done nothing bad.

What I have wondered about the most is that people waste absolutely no second in thinking before abusing and hating someone about whom they know nothing about. Sometimes, a number of groups and pages on Facebook are responsible for the same. They come up with memes about random people and declare that a particular person got so many haters, and that it will be nice to hate the person. The result is that people get rid of their ability to think for themselves and begin to hate those people mentioned.

There is no celebration like a monsoon with the green trees and plants.

The abuse and hate comes down like the rain – there is no stopping them.

I don’t understand why some people think that hating makes them better people, and that it is cool to abuse someone because others abuse the same person. Do others decide whom you should love and whom you are to hate? Do these people even know why they abuse and hate this person? Some people come up with the idea that some celebrities have only some lovers and a lot of haters. But where are those sensible people who watch performances, and don’t come up with a conclusion about someone as a person?

I had enough of these fans of some actors fighting each other and spreading hatred against the other. Hating another actor doesn’t make your favourite actor any better; the earlier you realize that, the better. The strange thing is how the fans support sons of their favourite actors too – love and hate are somehow hereditary for them. I would say that there shouldn’t be fans and haters – there should be admirers of movies and performances. There is no actor or actress who has given perfect performances throughout their lives or has managed to do pathetic work throughout their chances.

One has to realize that people can only be themselves, not someone else. Just because someone acted in a movie you disliked or received an award which you felt is undeserving, doesn’t give you free chance for abuse and hate. Some people really need some special classes – love = good; respect = good; abuse = bad; hate = bad. Good people don’t abuse; they don’t hate others whom they don’t know for no reason. If there is something for which it is difficult to agree, people talk to each other like decent men and women, along with respecting the opinions of others.

So much green for the eyes, and for the camera - can't deny its power.

So much green for the eyes, nature is strong; but human hatred is stronger.

Among those who received these abuse and hate posts, the one whom I admire the most is Jude Anthany Joseph, the director of Om Shanti Oshana with his very nice reply to the abusers. He put the status that anybody is free to abuse him on his profile, but it is of no meaning; after finishing the hate comments, they can drink some goat milk and take rest due to the heavy effort; but nothing will change. People still abused him, and my respect for him has only increased. All this hate because he received an award? So called literate people! I will make sure that I will watch all his movies first day, first show.

If the abuse on Ranjini Haridas is brought to the scene, people can come up with millions of reasons, and so I will not go to that area – but I got to make the point clear that hate is not a solution to anything. But what surprises me more is the hatred for Rimi Tomy. There is no reason there, but haters come up with abuse for no reason. Movies fail and not all performances are good or even average, but that gives nobody the licence to abuse and hate. If you hate people so much, just think about yourself, one of your friends, relatives or at least someone you know at that position – will you still hate them? Or all these haters so perfect?

***The images used on this blog post were taken by me on my mobile. ****The hate theory is not one-sided, but is applicable also to the makers of the movie and their friends and relatives who abuse the common man; do respect the people who watch your movies and make them hits.

The Worst that We See

We are forced to watch some of the worst advertisements because we have to look at the idiot box at times, and now even Youtube is doing the same. I have hated the motor-bike advertisements so much and I never wanted to talk about them (especially of Bajaj Pulsar) – most of those which we saw on the screen never really had anything to do with a particular bike. The same is the case of many others, but the ones I list below pretend that they are so awesome, while they are nowhere near doing that.

Special mention: Fair and Lovely Ads
I have always found the Fair and Lovely Ads more absurd that anything I have seen on the screen. There was rarely a moment for the Ad when it was not racist, and a lot of us had shamlessly fallen into that fairness cream trap. They have been making Indians too attached to turning white and looking down upon the people with darker skins. There was even a version for men, and this should been discouraged a long time ago; but at least we don’t see much of this one, or may be I am not watching enough of the television.

ads (2)

5. The 5 Star Ads
I have to agree that this one began nicely, but then went on to become so repetitive and irritating that nobody really cared about any new advertisements. They actually end up making the chocolate feel like a certain kind of drug, or rather what makes people so stupid and unable to really use their brains in a proper way. It is very close to attaining the zombie status for those who eats them, which is possible with the next advertisements. They can surely think about making such advertisements.

4. The Boost Ads
The Boost Ads have finally succeeded in making sure that the Indian cricket team remained the champions – may be the heroes of our times stopped drinking Boost, and Dhoni never actually tried which is why Australia is the present champion. Boost is no longer the secret of anybody’s energy. Just by putting a number of cricketers in an advertisement, nothing gets better – this is just like a number of Ads¬†with whom there can be¬†a draw;¬†there are¬†too many celebrities and no¬†sense about making a good advertisement. These let us know that some are people running short of ideas.

3. Airtel lovers Ads
The worst and the most irritating lovers were these who plagued our television sets for some time until getting extinct – may be they got divorced even before getting married, and it is only a fair thing. What the advertisement makes clear is that lovers can be really irritating and it is only fair not use the kind of mobile connection which these people use. It was just not working with its fake love content, and has no positive impact made in favour of getting new customers – it did have the ability to work reverse though, may be it brought more people to Vodafone, BSNL and others.

2. The Thums Up Ads
Yes, everyone wants to jump off a building or a cliff and Mountain Dew would say the same “thumbs up” and applaud after you fall on your head. This has never really made any sense at all since it started bothering us on the television. Don’t we all just want to have these bottled drinks rather than think about making a sincere attempt to kill ourselves? I would consider these advertisements more like inspiring suicide rather than anything else. People have to drink these when they are thirsty, not when they are adventurous.

1. Idea IIN Ads
With their worst advertisement being the one which says that everyone has to do engineering, and join something which starts with “II”, and proclaiming that Idea is the only hope that they have with the internet, this mobile network has gone and found a new low. It also teaches the audience that the girls who aren’t allowed to go to college can be and should be happy with just the best andriod phones with internet from Idea. These are only two of the problems of a series of pathetic advertisements. All advertisements which come from them fight hard to outsmart the other to be even more worse.

Of Fans and Cinema

We have always known that celebrities have blind fans, and some of them are a long way ahead in the level of stupidity. We have had our own ridiculous cricket fans, and there are those fans of the movie stars who take things to the next level. These days, we can see the bad and the more terrible fans as they are everywhere. It is hard to even recognize a good fan – it is a rare thing.

I have been watching less Malayalam movies these days. It has never been the plan, and there was never such an idea to avoid them. But the tendency to watch these movies are becoming so less. Some people say that the piracy is the reason for people not coming to the theatres to watch Malayalam movies, but the truth is that, it is the fans – they are the ones who are responsible for the decrease in the number of viewers in the theatres.

The multiplexes in the malls are better choices, but for how long?

The multiplexes in the malls are better choices, but can you guess for how long?

These fans make life miserable for others who try to watch the movie in peace. The only thing which they can do is to keep yelling, clapping and howling depending on whose movie it is, and to which celebrity do they have that feeling of worship. It is a terrible feeling to be there at the local theatres, and even in multiplexes, they often try to create a pathetic situation. Yes, they do that when they are not abusing people who don’t like the movies of their favourite stars.

Well, sitting in the darkness of the theatre and between a number of friends, some people think that they can say anything even in the presence of families with kids. They have the privilege to make that kind of noise which makes it difficult for the others to watch the movie. They also got the right to shower abuses in the darkness of the movie hall because they think that the world is only theirs – they are like “Bane” with the exact meaning and also as that villain of Gotham.

A list without the presence of Malayalam movies is also possible.

A list without the presence of Malayalam movies is also possible in the future.

You get to watch Malayalam movies at any theatre near you and it is an advantage for the industry, but why are people, especially families and those who actually have a working intellect stay away from the movies for most of the time? It is because of these so called movie fans who provide a very unpleasant movie watching experience. When some people even choose to smoke inside the theatre, why are the authorities not ready to throw them out?

Is being decent too much to ask for? Is the use of respectable language that difficult? We keep watching that no smoking advertisement, and I have seen people smoking through it. We need an advertisement against indecent talks and behaviour, but that too will go over the head just like those smoking advertisements. Do these people even respect the views of others? The answer would be another question – why do they?

It is not easy for the fans to respect the opinions of others, but the more surprising thing is that they can’t even respect their fellow human beings. It is time that the theatre owners take a tough stand, and the movie stars should also try to make the situation better. The family viewers have already begun to prefer the multiplexes only, and with the same, they are moving to Hollywood and Bollywood. It is time for the Malayalam movie industry to have a cultured young audience, and in the absence of the same, there will be almost no family audience. The families have been the strength, and if the Malayalam movie industry no longer seems to feel the need for that section, it is a definite reason for a future downfall.

A New School of Abuse

These days, we see people thriving on a school of abuse. May be they are striving for graduation and post-graduation on the same instead of doing something constructive. Whenever there is a chance for a debate, things turn to abuse and it is all about who can be the bigger foul-mouthed creature. May be they have the experience of winning so many battles with abuses. But does that win them the war of life? Have they won all the battles and still lost the big war? Do they even care? What has education provided these people with? An extreme case of nothingness?

It has been a few months since the Maria Sharapova abuse program was launched by Indians, lead by Keralites seemingly making an attempt to be champions at that high quality program which is going to win India medals in Olympics. They flourished through her Facebook Page hurling the worst kind of misogynistic and degrading comments, and after giving the worst possible abuse, all they have earned is a bloody elephant egg that never really existed. I had never thought that so many people in Facebook are so anti-female – but that helped me because I could remove a few idiots from my friends list in Facebook.

Maria Sharapova has the best fans, but not at this part of the world.

Maria Sharapova has the best fans, but the worst are at this part of the world.

That was their global problem. The abusers did go back to their local level after that incident. The question that Maria Sharapova asked was just one of their problems. Being active in local programs was always in their blood. There was always the need for controversies. Prithviraj Sukumaran hasn’t been giving much interviews, but once their found that his daughter’s name had the “Menon” in it, they came up with the caste based controversy. The big surprise is that it came from those people who won’t say no to reservation for their caste. They still need to go after a name and enter the abuse mode – this one was short-lived though.

Abuse at television and news paper pages happens to be another common thing. Without realizing that there is an unlike option on every page, these people wander around hoping to come up with an abuse here or there. Some of them come with extra fake accounts and the rest with their friends. They choose some random news and start the daily program. They have special love for entertainment news and after passing some rude comments at celebrities, they starts advice-oriented abuse. The moral policing and abuse combination begins here and spreads to celebrity pages.

There was the recent controversy about them teaching an actress how to wear clothes. Yes, there was teaching class available for free, but not without abuse which comes along with the same. At another time, they had problems with another actress becoming the news-maker of the year 2014. What they don’t understand is that this choice was made by people – those who were inspired by her performance in a motivating movie. She was far above the level of the movie, and it had inspired too many women, which was why people voted for her. So the abuse should go to the common people who voted right? Why don’t they try abusing everyone on the streets?

He was selected by Asianet as the youth icon of the year - eat it.

He was selected by Asianet as the youth icon of the year – eat it or leave it.

Then there were the blind fans becoming so sad that their favourite young actor who had so many flops in 2014 didn’t become the youth icon of the year. They were a developing category in the school of abuse and decided to protest against it in a foul-mouthed manner. Yes, they just did that and finished it as if it is a program conducted for some festival. The celebrity fans are the biggest abusers available. The problem with them is that they donate their brains to that celebrity when they should have instead given a kidney. If you abuse one celebrity for another one, you are showing your lack of brain which hurts the zombies who want to eat them.

Some people were after Suresh Gopi because of something he said. If he had mentioned that one community should strive for something doesn’t mean that the others shouldn’t. The only mistake he has done is by giving some help to the contestants coming for his reality show. Seriously, one has to wonder how many other celebrities are as philanthropic as he is. The other crowd favourites for abuse include Rimi Tomy and Ranjini Haridas. Sometimes, I am so surprised at the reasons that they find for abuse that, I doubt if I belong to this world. This world is slowly, but steadily going to the school of abuse. Being a cent percent literate state, Kerala is showing the rest of the country that literacy means so less when online.

Isn’t it a good thing to stop interfering in the lives of others and begin to respect their opinions; being nice to others? ***The images used in this blog post are from the official Facebook Pages of the celebrities.
