What Do You Earn?

[The story so far: The wizards join in the grand tower to make sure that the sons and daughters choose nothing other than the Dwarven engineering or the Elven healing. The Wizard of Wind takes another step towards the same as he receives the book “Guide to Destroying the Hopes of Others” and advice from the Dwarven. Meanwhile, the rest of the magical world remains free of the ridiculous thought procedures of the wizards, but they continue to do so. ***The images used in this post are screenshots from my time spent in the game, Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic which I highly recommend.]

The Wizard of Wind had managed to start a new store in the middle of the city to spread information about the children of the wizards and sorceresses who were earning high salaries. He had made a big list about the same, and had put the name of his son at the top. He was always amending the list and showing it to others, and he had named the place the Hall of Fame with Coffee where he would boast about his family to everyone who comes to have a drink. Anyone who desired not to hear about the same were immediately thrown out of the shop.

The wizards join at the central tower...

The wizard’s idea is not the smartest, but it is mostly the most one-sided.

“But why are you so much after the money? Isn’t there life beyond the strength of coins?” a satyr asked once. He also had the opportunity to repeat the question, which was not going to be tolerated by a wizard.

“You have no knowledge about the truth; you are not even close to knowing” said the Wizard of Wind before throwing him out through the window with the help of his skeletal minions.

“Replace the glass windows and keep them open so that we can throw more people out at regular intervals” he added.
“But it is still the truth, isn’t it? Everyone sees some truth in it” a waiter asked.

“It is not the truth that I believe in and wish to spread. It bothers me and relieves me of my awesomeness” The Wizard of Wind said.

“Oh. Do we need to know anything to make sure that only your truth stands? Is it our ultimate aim?” the waiter asked.

“Just follow the procedure and throw all those who come with any other version of truth right through the window with the same velocity. I wish to make a magical spell which does that automatically, but I am too busy with praising my people and blaming others that I am not that good with the magic any more” added the Wizard of Wind with quite a good amount of anger.

“So, you need only two types of people; only those with a lot of money or the ones who praise your ideas about how it is awesome to have a lot of money with plans to earn even more coin” the waiter further asked.

“Yes, now you got what I want and usually talk about. You can now go back to work” the Wizard of Wind instructed.

“So, the salary is at sixty five thousand. I have to see how these Pounds, Dinars and Dollars convert into rupees and see how much that boy earns. Then I can make a table on how much he saves by making a guess about how much is spent and also how much is needed for his home. Then I will find a formula which adds the salary of the wives if there are any. Only with the money earned can I find out the goodness. Only the rich children can be good and useful people, I know that” the Wizard of Wind told himself.

The rest of the world outside the Dwarven-High Elf territory

There will be no talk about the rest of the world outside the Dwarven-High Elf territory.

The Wizard of Wind found it very difficult not to compare people, as it had become part of his life. Now, with a lot of advice gained and the Orb of Negativity, he could always make his plans work in an easier way. The ultimate weapon for pessimism was always within his reach and he could use it to his advantage. The world of politics inside the realm of magic was nothing without people like him, even as he knew very less of how much more he could do if he could have chosen goodness as righteousness.
