Couponhaat: Deals and Offers

We know how much the strength of online shopping has increased in the last few years. I did my first online shopping by the end of last year, and now I do a lot of online shopping; that was from Flipkart, and it was followed by Snapdeal and Amazon in the later first half of this year. My mobile phone, battery-powered fan, electric kettle, the mobile phones of my parents, my tab, emergency lights, selfie stick, headphones, books, laptop bag and even water jugs and pressure cookers have origins through online shopping, and all these have happened within the period of one year.

Buying products online was not the usual thing to do around here at this part of the world, but things have changed, even though there will be people who will prefer buying things locally. Nowadays, a higher number of people are looking at the online websites first and then the rest. We are always looking for some interesting offers online. But often we miss such offers as we can’t keep searching for them everywhere all the time – we do have other things to do, and these offers just come and go.

I have myself wanted to find those offers at Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon, three of my most visited online shopping websites. I usually end up buying the needed product without offers, and there was the need to change that. It just happened last month with a Swipe phone! I have already bought too many products which had absolutely no offer associated with them, and at times I wondered if buying something from the local stores was better. But I recently came across Couponhaat, one of the fastest growing coupons and deals website in India.

couponhaat

Couponhaat seeks to provide the best coupons and deals for online buyers in India. They choose the best from the popular online shopping sites. It always feels good to have earned some discount here or there, right? We have always loved buying something with discount or some other offer attached to the product. Along with the earlier mentioned websites, Paytm, ShopClues, Jabong, Pepperfy, Foodpanda, HomeShop18, Yepme, Zovi, eBay and many others are also there.

Couponhaat allows you to search through online shopping sites as well as products and the categories associated with them. You can specifically look for the offers from Amazon or Snapdeal or you can check at the categories like Electronics, Fashion and the others along with the subcategories like Books, Tablets, Cameras, Footwear, Laptops and many others. When you choose the option, you will see the best offers along with the name of the online shopping site and you can go there by clicking “Shop Now”.

Through registration at Couponhaat, one can receive e-mail alerts from the favorite stores or categories, at that moment when they become available. It is the easiest way to save some money as long as you are into online shopping. There will be newsletters with the best deals and coupons. There is the easy option to register with Facebook. The subscriptions can be personalized, with newsletters, and also choosing from the most popular stores and categories. It is quite an easy thing to do.

There might be many options in the form of online shopping sites, but to make the best use of it according to our needs, we should be using something like Couponhaat, the website which has 80,000 coupons to redeem and 5200 live coupons and deals. Such an option not only saves one’s money by providing the best available deals but also saves the shopping time which is spent online. Using Couponhaat will make sure that the online shopping experience will get better.

For this Festival Season

This weekend becomes special because it is a festival season. There are some interesting releases for Eid this year, even though none of them are too hyped. If anything is hyped, that is outside the Malayalam movie industry in the form of Bajrangi Bhaijaan which is the only Hindi movie here at the multiplexes. Malayalam movies arrive this weekend without trying too much with the advertisements; the promotion is quite less considering the fact that there is no real shortage of stars.

It will still be Bajrangi Bhaijaan which will have more screen than any other movie, at the multiplexes as it will not only restrict the number of shows of other movies, but also eliminate presence of Baahubali, the Telugu version, leaving the Tamil and Malayalam dubbed versions to fight the battle. But one of the four Malayalam movies is going to rule the local theatres restricting the rush for every other movie. Premam might still survive along with Baahubali, but for the rest, it is going to be tough this weekend too.

As I look forward to this weekend with no Hollywood releases, I have the need to choose a movie from this list, and I have decided to choose Madhura Naranga. The significance of this movie is that Kunchako Boban and Biju Menon, the highly successful team comes together again. Bhaiyya Bhaiyya was the last time we had seen them entertaining us as a team. That movie itself was only a fair watch and a release along with the Prithviraj starrer Sapthamashree Thaskaraha clearly diminshed its chances.

naranga (1)

The director Sugeeth also joins with the two actors after two interesting movies Ordinary and 3 Dots. Neeraj Madhav also joins them after the recent success story with Nivin Pauly and Aju Varghese, in Oru Vadakkan Selfie. There is no doubt that this trio can do a very nice job together as long as the story and dialogues support the same. He does provide some good support in every case, and you will know that if you watched his earliest big hit, Sapthamashree Thaskaraha.

The daughter of the late actor Ratheesh, Parvathy is also making her debut as the heroine opposite Kunchacko Boban in this movie. Her elder brother, Padmaraj Ratheesh had already made his debut in the Mammootty starrer Fireman earlier. The movie is shot across Dubai and Sri Lanka with a full romance story expected by the viewers. The trailer is interesting, and looking at all the available options, this one has a good advantage, and there should be good rust for the first show.

Love 24X7 seemed like another love story with less romance from the trailer. It seems more inclined towards a family drama with some extra elements supporting a genre mixture. The variety avatar should be a welcome change as far as Dileep is concerned. Meanwhile, the last election campaign seems to be inspired a movie, the Mammootty starrer, Acha Din. It is supposed to be a family entertainer, and Mansi Sharma will be another interesting face for the Malayalam movie industry.

At the same time, KL.10 Pathu starring Unni Mukundan becomes the fourth release for the weekend. It looks like a much simpler story with football playing a major role in the plot to create the twists. Our hero seems to have a new style in this one. Chandini Sreedharan is the heroine. But Prithviraj-Indrajith-Arya starrer Double Barrel seems to have postponed the release date further, and that eliminates the chance for another one, bringing the competition down. Let’s see what actually happens this weekend! 🙂

Choice of the Heart

Most of the times, there is more than one choice in our life; and it matters how those decisions are taken. All the time, the self-proclaimed people keeps asking us to take decisions from the mind instead of the heart. It has always been the brain who got more attention, and in the end, we wonder if the right decision was taken when it involved the brain – if the heart could have done better? Isn’t the brain getting too much attention in a word which needs more empathy an compassion?

It has never been easy to listen to the heart in our society which looks only for the winners. There have been better times for the heart in the later stages of my life, but not during those earlier times when I was at school. Yes, the first graduation course was also a decision of the mind which had to be changed, but the school days were not so different either. There was no option to choose from the heart – none of us had the choice; no man or woman had a real choice at that time.

When you see such clouds on the sky, good things can happen to you :P

The brain asks you to aim for the skies, but what does the heart say?

Yes, there were men who made the choice, but I don’t consider them as my role-models. As far as my little universe was considered, none of them were part of the same. All my friends as well as myself were caught in this option to make no real choice. We were forced to join a random graduation related to the IT field which was at its full power during that time, even though things were beginning to somewhat come down by the time the course was finishing.

Therefore, the decision to join BCA was made out of the mind, because it was the perfect and absolutely sane decision at that time. Everyone else had been spending time looking for those engineering colleges, and doing BCA meant that less money was to be spent and still with an MCA added to the degree, I could be none less than an engineer and also a post-graduate, thus one step forward. Yes, I had qualified in the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examinations of that time just with my guess work, but BCA and MCA combination seemed better.

The rays of the sun welcomed me almost everyday.

It was the season of darkness; but things change when the heart takes over.

It was never the time of the heart. Such times had no place for the heart, because the aim of the society was to make an engineer out of even zombies. Each and every parent wanted to say that the son or daughter was studying for engineering. It hasn’t changed much even now, and the coconut trees are complaining that there are more engineers than them, leading to a change in demographics which can be dangerous to the relationship between humans and the trees of the state.

I never had good times with BCA, unless you want to mention sleeping in the classes and never going to the college for days as “good times”. This meant that the brain was rather the selfish and the greedy one, making choices out of having no real choice, and calling it a bloody choice even without an existence. Brain had kept telling that this is still awesome, and you could go on saying to the people that you are doing BCA, thus making everyone happy. But the heart had other ideas.

On one of those rainy days, supported by the beauty and serenity of the monsoon, I decided to end this from the bottom of my heart. There was no point in it, and the same was supported by my mother. Even though the majority was still against this decision and wanted to go with the mind, once again taking my choice out of me, I decided against listening to the same people who stopped my heart from making decisions. I made the decision to quit BCA and take a graduation in BA English and Literature – that felt awesome and it was a dil ki deal!

I am participating in the #DilKiDealOnSnapdealactivity at BlogAdda in association with SnapDeal.

The Wizards’ Choice

*This is an allegory inspired by a comment from Raja Saravanan (http://rajareviews.com) at https://theteacerebration.wordpress.com/2014/11/20/theory-of-relative-it. This is purely fictional in nature with its base on fantasy, as you can see – but the idea is real and applicable anywhere, especially when equality and freedom of choice are denied 😀 *The images used in this post are screenshots from my time spent in one of my favourite games, Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. There are influences from the same game and another two games Disciples and Overlord, as well as The Lord of the Rings.

On the top of the tower of Pling, the five wizards joined on a feast. The eldest one held control over the Sphere of Life, followed by the four younger ones holding powers over the Spheres of Wind, Earth, Water and Fire respectively in the order of their ages. The joining of the five Spheres was significant to create a wall of magic on the day of Christmas, when the stars aligned with the underworld, forming a passage between the worlds. For years, they have done the same, making sure that the worlds don’t touch each other.

“The world has been saved, for now. We are doing great as usual” announced the Wizard of Life.

“But you need to save the world again” added the Wizard of Fire. “You have to tell your son. He is not following the Dwarven engineering. See the sons and daughters of our wizard brethren and the sorceress sisters, and some of them even possess the Elven healing skills, taking training from the high elves. You should have taken him under your wing and forced him to follow you. A young kid should always grow up under his father. Mothers know nothing about leading the children in their path, and relatives of the mother are always quite bad” he said.

“Professionalism is the path, you know. Dwarves are skilled people. If he was trained with them, he would have been working in an armoury by now, making weapons and earning money in gold. Just look at how well my son is doing. Money is a very important thing in the world of magic, or may be it is the most important thing, as there is limitation to what sorcery can do. Even we are getting weaker in power due to the development of science” remarked the Wizard of Wind.

“Just send him to a centaur then. He can teach him enough to be successful in life. We can’t have young wizards wandering around without associating themselves with the Dwarves or the Elves. They have to learn engineering or medicine. Otherwise, what is different from them and a bloody underground goblin or an orc from a cave?” asked the Wizard of Earth.

“May be there is still time for him. It is the best if we don’t interfere much in the lives of the children, right? I think we have already did that a lot, or rather too much in the case of your son” said the Wizard of Water.

“We have saved the world again. It is so amazing isn’t it? I have never thought we could do this good. I mean, we don’t have that much of a great background, right? So we should be doing a lot worse” said a thinking Wizard of Life.

“Yes, it is a big achievement that we have come so far. We are just below average people holding a wand and chanting spells about which we have absolutely no idea. But we are still moving away from the topic” said the Wizard of Earth.

“I don’t think that my son is the only problem. There is also that daughter of the sorceress of the mountains who has gone for social service among the Wood Elves. How could she do that? We belong to an elite class. We don’t do social service. We are wizards. We don’t go down the level, we have to go high up the ladder, and all these sons and daughters in our family have to be ready for the higher calling, making as much money as possible in the process” said the Wizard of Life.

“Actually, it is kind of better. She could have actually gone with the Dark Elves. She got many friends there too. This is kind of better” said the Wizard of Water.

The rest of the world outside the Dwarven-High Elf territory

“You can say that with ease. Your sons and daughters are already part of the Dwarven heavy armaments engineering system. Here, we have children who are going the wrong path. Our elder wizard’s son is creating literature with Halflings! Can you believe that? I mean, they are just Hobbits in disguise. Writing worthless things and working in the local garden. How can we approve of such a thing which earns no money and is not a high class profession? asked the Wizard of Earth.

“He has still not mingled with the undead yet” said the Wizard of Water.

“An engineer is an engineer. It is a title that the Dwarves directly pass on and is worth a lot in the society. Now, he has only one option. To be a teacher. He has to go to the dragon scholars for that. The wise dragon hybrids can teach him how to be an educator of spells, something that can improve his skills a lot, and will speed up the process of becoming a wizard” said the Wizard of Earth.

“Or make him do some business. He can start a business by selling magic wands in the market. As he has wizard blood in his veins, he will be successful, and soon can become the best in the business, as there is no established wand-seller in our realm” said the Wizard of Fire.

“We should consult the sorceress group to finalize on this. After all, we shouldn’t let out sons and daughters have free-will. It is only our opinions that should count. We also have to bring some opinions about the grand-sons and grand-daughters wherever applicable, and shouldn’t let them take decisions by themselves. We are the wizards who know everything, and so we should interfere. Remember that I have better control of the Partial Sphere of Mind more than you all do” said the Wizard of Life.

“There can still be a few things which should be left to the children” said the Wizard of Water.

“I know not many things of that kind” added the Wizard of Fire.

The wizards packed their magic wands and set on a journey to discuss and come up with ideas to make sure that none of their children will follow a path out of free-will. They had to deviate them because they knew everything and were the saviours of the world. Two things ran through their minds – engineering and medicine; they had to bring the dwarves and high elves to come and persuade their lost children to bring them back on the path by displaying engineering and healing skills.

[The saga continues…]
